验证者就绪状态与测试目标
Verifiers running the latest version of Prysm will automatically begin proposing blocks with 200 million Gas after Glamsterdam-activated in Sepolia at 13:53:36 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) on October 6. If the blocks remain at their previous settings, the true new capacity of the network will not be fully stretched, diluting the test results.
These capacity trials are part of a broader strategy to gradually increase the block size cap while monitoring risks, such as increased verifier resource consumption or increased operating costs. Expanding block space is expected to accommodate more transactions, stablecoin transfers and decentralized applications-critical to improving network efficiency before increased network competition leads to higher user fees.
If the verifier fails to upgrade or adjust its software, some blocks may continue to be limited to the 60 million Gas cap during capacity testing. This could undermine the effectiveness of the assessment by falsely representing the potential of Sepolia under the new settings.
The current 200 million Gas cap applies only to the Sepolia network during Glamsburg rehearsals. The mainnet has not yet implemented this adjustment, and developers will use insights from testing to determine the appropriate parameters for mainnet deployment.
