OKX completes a new round of financing at a valuation of US$25 billion
Cryptocurrency exchange OKX announced that it has obtained an undisclosed amount of financing from existing partners and investors, and the company's valuation reaches US$25 billion. Participants in the financing include SC Ventures, the investment arm of Standard Chartered Bank, Qube Research & Technologies, Ripple and stablecoin issuer Circle.
OKX said it did not disclose the specific scale of this round of financing. This round of financing is a continuation of the round announced in March this year. At that time, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, injected US$200 million into OKX, and the two parties reached a cooperation at the same valuation level.
Xu Mingxing, founder and CEO of OKX, pointed out that the newly obtained funds will be used to help OKX transform into a "broader global fintech platform" that aims to combine "cryptocurrency technology with the standards expected by global financial institutions."
In addition, the joint venture between OKX and the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) on Monday submitted an application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch a tokenized stock trading platform under the regulatory agency's new innovation exemption framework.
