RLUSD Evolution of strategic alliances
Ripple has deepened its partnership with Brevan Howard, the world's leading hedge fund. The digital assets company announced that its Ripple Prime division will provide Brevan Howard's investment vehicles with prime broker services , clearing and financing capabilities covering multiple asset classes.
Ripple Prime will provide Brevan Howard with multi-asset prime broker, clearing and financing services , expanding our partnership with the world's top alternative investment managers.
Ripple Prime is the institutional trading and brokerage arm established by Ripple following the acquisition of institutional master broker Hidden Road. The platform serves financial institutions, hedge funds and major investors operating in traditional and digital asset markets.
The foundation for cooperation between the two companies has been established. Last year, the Breven Howard entity participated in Ripple's $500 million financing, which was valued at $40 billion at the time.
Ripple's market value then climbed to $50 billion, thanks to a $750 million share repurchase program completed earlier this year. Currently, Brevan Howard manages approximately $35 billion in investor capital.
Alan McGroarty, chief operating officer of Brevan Howard Group, noted that the company has observed increasing customer demand for infrastructure that can connect digital and traditional financial markets. He said Ripple's technology platform should provide the fund's portfolio management team with greater operational efficiency and capital optimization.
Ripple describes the agreement as meeting the needs of institutional asset managers seeking prime broker solutions that cover both cryptocurrencies and traditional financial instruments. The company emphasized that its infrastructure operates within regulatory parameters specifically designed for institutional participants.
Under the enhanced arrangement, Brevan Howard will gain full access to Ripple Prime's full service . These include digital currencies including XRP and Ripple's own stablecoin RLUSD.
Ripple Prime's expansion initiatives
Ripple Prime launched a number of new services this year . In August, the division launched stock trading capabilities through its Delta One trading desk.
This trading desk enables institutional participants to execute total income swaps linked to U.S. stocks. This product is mainly targeted at hedge funds, liquidity providers and exchange-traded fund sponsors .
Earlier this year, credit rating agency KBRA awarded Ripple PrimeBBB credit rating. KBRA noted that the business is in a growth stage and is developing more products, including equity master broker solutions and derivatives contracts.
Ripple Prime also received a $200 million credit line from Neuberger Berman. The company said the funds will support the expansion of its institutional margin financing business.
Ripple Prime recently established a connection with decentralized trading platform Hyperliquid. This is the first time that the service has natively integrated the DeFi protocol.
The collaboration with Brevan Howard demonstrates Ripple's strategic focus on institutional participants seeking unified access to digital and traditional financial instruments. Ripple has been developing these capabilities since completing the Hidden Road deal.
Brevan Howard's dual role as an investor and user of services highlights the fund's commitment to digital asset technology. The hedge fund initially supported Ripple during last year's capital raise, and later strengthened the connection further.
Ripple has not disclosed a specific implementation timetable for providing enhanced services to Brevan Howard. The company said the deployment took advantage of existing frameworks between the two organizations.
