The U.S. spot bitcoin ETF has inflows for five consecutive weeks, totaling US$1.92 billion.
In five consecutive trading days, the U.S. spot bitcoin ETF has attracted a total of US$1.92 billion in inflows. These funds bring the assets under management close to $100 billion. At the same time, capital flows have also spread to Ethereum, Ripple and Solana, proving that institutional interest is no longer limited to Bitcoin.
Quick overview of key points
US$1.92 billion was injected in five days, bringing the total asset management scale to US$96.07 billion.
The IBIT ETF absorbed 77% of Friday's inflows ($239.28 million), with no net outflows from the market.
A total of US$697.18 million was captured this week, of which ETHA funds performed significantly better.
At the same time, institutional funds also poured into the XRP ETF (US$18.38 million) and Solana ETF (US$10.07 million).
BlackRock led the way, with a cumulative inflow of US$1.92 billion in spot bitcoin ETFs in a week
At the end of an extremely busy week for Wall Street trading, seven spot bitcoin ETFs were active. As of Friday, August 21, these products recorded a total inflow of $307.45 million. The result marked the end of an extraordinary week in which no funds were outflows from any of the relevant ETFs. U.S. giant BlackRock dominated Friday's trading, with its IBIT products attracting $239.28 million in a single day, accounting for about 77% of the day's total inflows.
During the entire trading session on Friday, total trading volume on these financial instruments was approximately $6.37 billion. This figure highlights the extraordinary liquidity of the U.S. market. As a result, the scale of various asset management in the sector surged by nearly US$6 billion between Thursday and Friday to US$96.07 billion.
Such an astonishing leap makes the symbolic threshold of US$100 billion once again within reach. Funds surged in the last three trading days of the week. Driven by the mechanical rise in Bitcoin prices, banks, telecommunications institutions and financial advisers have increased their allocations. The return of funds to the market on such a large scale proves the operational maturity of financial instruments in the face of cryptocurrency fluctuations.
The detailed distribution of funds injected this Friday shows the contributions of various ecosystem participants:
BlackRock (IBIT): US$239.28 million;
Fidelity (FBTC): US$30.19 million;
Gray scale Bitcoin mini trust: US$13.62 million;
Bitwise (BITB): US$9.21 million;
Morgan Stanley (MSBT):$7.73 million;
VanEck (HODL):$4.36 million;
ARK21 Shares (ARKB):$3.07 million.
The Ethereum ETF received US$697 million in weekly inflows, continuing buying momentum
The appetite of institutional investors has surpassed Bitcoin and expanded to the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalisation. The Ethereum ETF recorded capital inflows for five consecutive days, totaling US$184.93 million on the last day alone. Its weekly total reached US$697.18 million.
We also noticed a trend towards concentration of funds: BlackRock's ETHA ETF ranked first with US$150.83 million, accounting for approximately 82% of daily traffic. The remaining funds were allocated as follows: Gray Ethereum Mini Trust ($11.51 million), BlackRock ETHB ($9.94 million), Fidelity ($9.62 million), Bitwise ($2.24 million) and Morgan Stanley ($779,000). No outflows were reported for this subcategory.
On the last day, the cumulative capital transaction volume of the Ethereum ETF was US$1.67 billion, locking the asset management scale at US$14.29 billion. The simultaneous growth of Ethereum products confirms that institutional deposits need to be decentralized across decentralized infrastructure, rather than just the value storage functions provided by Bitcoin. These continued positive traffic proves that Ethereum cryptocurrency is gradually but structurally being incorporated into traditional asset portfolios.
Institutional interest expands to XRP and Solana, market sentiment can be controlled
As the two leading cryptocurrencies evolve, alternative assets such as XRP and Solana also received more allocations before Friday's close. XRP-based capital attracted $18.38 million, driven mainly by Bitwise ($16.89 million) and Franklin Templeton ($1.49 million). In this context, the total management size of this asset is US$1.33 billion, and the transaction volume is US$94.03 million.
Regarding Solana, its cumulative inflow was US$10.07 million, of which Bitwise contributed US$8.73 million, Fidelity contributed US$1.35 million, and total assets under management reached US$1.12 billion. However, funds flowing into HYPE cryptocurrency did not record any inflow that day, indicating selective arbitrage among investors.
The consistency of capital inflows from all cryptocurrency products confirms the explosion of institutional demand. With no capital outflows at all from Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, a large amount of liquidity has prepared the industry for new portfolio adjustments. As the market sentiment index rises to 71 points and fully enters the greedy range, close attention needs to be paid to the market's ability to absorb these growing assets. Breaking the symbolic $100 billion threshold for Bitcoin management will be a major test, likely to show whether this institutional accumulation cycle is a sustainable basis or whether it will trigger profit-taking at historically high levels.
