Cryptocurrency funds 'capital inflows reached US$3.2 billion last week, with BlackRock IBIT leading the way.
Last week, cryptocurrency fund investment increased significantly, with total inflows reaching US$3.2 billion, setting a record since October 2025. The industry's highest in a single week. Research firm Kobeissi Letter reported that cryptocurrencies and gold funds have attracted a large number of investor attention at the same time.
BlackRock IBIT leads capital inflows
BlackRock's IBIT is a spot Bitcoin ETF that performed particularly well last week, attracting US$928 million in new capital in a single week. The previous week, the fund had inflows of $1.3 billion, pushing its two-week total net inflows to more than $2.2 billion.
Other major cryptocurrencies have also received stable investment. Funds focusing on Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Hyperliquid and Dogecoin continue to maintain capital inflows, indicating that the market's interest in assets other than Bitcoin remains undiminished.
Over the past four weeks, cryptocurrency funds have averaged weekly inflows of US$1.3 billion, maintaining the industry's strongest momentum in nearly ten months.
Cryptocurrency funds continue to be strong
Currently, the four-week rolling average weekly inflow of cryptocurrency funds has reached US$1.3 billion, marking the continued and stable entry of capital into the digital asset field. This steady trend since late summer suggests a sustained rather than a brief surge in investor confidence.
Despite the overall strong performance, subtle changes have occurred within asset classes. The latest data shows that some funds may be shifting from Bitcoin ETFs to other cryptocurrencies.
Funds shift from Bitcoin to Altcoins
The U.S. Bitcoin fund had maintained inflows for nine consecutive days, but experienced an outflow of $202 million last week. Even so, the overall net inflow of Bitcoin funds last week was $925 million, of which IBIT contributed $938 million during this period.
Ethereum Fund inflows of US$824 million last week, including US$102 million in a single day on August 28, extending its consecutive record of capital inflows to 10 trading days. In addition, funds targeting Solana, XRP, Hyperliquid and Dogecoin continue to receive investment.
This funding rotation has prompted some analysts to believe that investors are diversifying from bitcoin to altcoins, especially as the "September effect" in the cryptocurrency market-a period known for its volatility-is approaching.
Analyst and trader Scott Melker said the current flow of funds represents a shift rather than an overall withdrawal. He pointed out: "Buying is rotating, not reversing."
The U.S. Bitcoin ETF ended nine consecutive days of capital inflows, but the overall net inflow remained US$925 million last week, of which BlackRock IBIT attracted US$938 million during this period.
Recent models show that capital inflows continue to cover a variety of digital assets. Summary data shows that not only Bitcoin and Ethereum, but also products for Solana, XRP, Hyperliquid and Dogecoin have received stable investment.
As August enters September, analysts are watching whether this trend towards altcoins will continue and how overall cryptocurrency market sentiment evolves with capital flows.
