The SHIB whale transferred 600 billion tokens, and its position still exceeded US$478 million.

A large Shiba Inu (SHIB) whale transferred 600 billion SHIB tokens, worth approximately US$3.09 million. The giant whale continues to reduce its holdings, which had previously accounted for a significant portion of the meme coin's total supply.

Giant whale positions and market impact

According to tracking by online analyst Ember, the wallet purchased a staggering 1.03 quadrillions (or 1.03 × 10^15) SHIBs in 2020 for 37.8 ETH (worth about US$13,700 at the time). This amount once accounted for nearly 17.4% of the total supply of Shiba Inu coins. At the peak of the SHIB price surge in 2021, the market value of this position once soared to US$9.1 billion.

Ember's analysis shows that over the years, the giant whale has sold a total of 10.06 trillion SHIBs, cashing in approximately US$66.6 million at an average price of US$0.000066 per piece. Despite the heavy selling, the wallet still holds approximately 93.27 trillion SHIBs, worth approximately US$478 million at current prices.

This position accounts for more than 1.5% of SHIB's circulating supply, making this address influential in the market. Although large transfers are often questioned as potentially triggering sharp price fluctuations, analysts caution that moving tokens between wallets does not necessarily mean a sell-off is imminent.

Despite the massive reduction, the address still controls approximately 93.27 trillion SHIBs, which is equivalent to more than 1.5% of the currency's circulating supply at current prices.

SHIB Price Trend and Volume Trend

SHIB has faced increasing selling pressure in the near future. The token is currently trading at approximately US$0.00005093, with the latest data showing a decline of 1.47%. In the past 24 hours, SHIB's spot trading volume reached US$17.9 million, significantly lower than the US$45.7 million in futures trading volume. Open interest currently stands at US$51.75 million.

CoinGlass data shows that funds continue to show a net outflow. In the past hour, the net outflow of SHIB futures was approximately US$213.49 million, and the four-hour and eight-hour net outflow was US$383.54 million and US$476.76 million respectively. Spot trading also recorded negative capital flows over the same period of time.

Liquidation data further highlights the current bearish sentiment. In the past 24 hours, approximately US$63.62 million of SHIB positions were cleared, of which approximately US$49.25 million were long positions and approximately US$14.37 million were short positions.

Industry trends and technological changes

The broader cryptocurrency space is undergoing major changes in the way traditional assets and digital assets are integrated. While investors habitually focus on technical forms and large-scale transactions like the latest giant whale transfers, an emerging trend is accelerating: Wall Street is embracing the Web3 platform. Investors are increasingly using services such as 1stepSwap to hold shares of major U.S. companies and shares of gold and platinum directly in crypto wallets. Through physical asset tokenization (RWA) and automatic price matching, these platforms aim to completely eliminate middlemen, thereby reshaping the way people enter traditional and digital markets.

Although a blockchain transfer of 600 billion SHIBs does not guarantee an immediate impact on the market, the size of the remaining positions in the wallet continues to attract market attention. SHIB has recorded declines in multiple time periods, with long leveraged positions accounting for the majority of recent liquidations.

Market observers remain vigilant to determine whether the giant whale's latest move signals further selling or a routine portfolio correction.
