XRP Ledger transaction volume surged 26% to US$620 million, but user activity dropped significantly
XRP Ledger (XRPL), a decentralized blockchain platform developed specifically for fast, low-cost payments, has recorded a sharp rise in trading activity in the past 24 hours. Online data showed that total payments surged 26% to 462.9 million XRPs. At current prices of approximately $1.34, it is worth more than $620 million. Despite this significant increase in trading flows, key indicators suggest investors should remain cautious about this.
Rising trading volume is mixed with adoption signals
This surge in trading volume is accompanied by an increase in the value transmitted on the Internet. However, when it comes to core participation indicators, the picture remains mixed. Newly created XRP Ledger accounts increased by 8.8% to 2,300, while active accounts increased only slightly by 1.3% to 14,500.
Meanwhile, network charges increased 8.5% in 24 hours to 277.4 XRP, which means an equivalent amount of XRP was destroyed as part of the payment process. The network operated at a consistent speed, processing 20,500 closed ledgers, with an average resolution time of 3.87 seconds per ledger.
There is a completely different trend in terms of user engagement. The number of active users dropped significantly by 22.4% to 151,500. The decline prompted analysts to point to a disconnect between user engagement and transaction volume. Despite fewer participants on the network, the number of XRPs moving between accounts is increasing, suggesting that the recent surge may stem from larger or more concentrated transactions rather than widespread adoption.
Noun explanation: XRP Ledger (XRPL for short) is an open source decentralized blockchain designed to enable fast and efficient asset transfers, especially cross-border payments. Compared to traditional financial networks, its consensus mechanism allows high throughput and low transaction costs.
Price Trend and Technical Analysis
Parallel to on-chain activity, price fluctuations in XRP create uncertainty among market participants. The token's value rebounded from below $1.00 to a peak near $1.70 during the August rally, but is currently trading at around $1.34. Since the breakthrough, momentum has weakened and XRP has faced resistance after repeatedly failing to maintain above the $1.40 - 1.45 level.
Analysts are closely watching the $1.33 - 1.35 region. This area has technical significance for dynamic support. If XRP falls below this range, the next major support level is expected to be around $1.245. The long-term moving average is currently around $1.355, with another support cluster located around $1.335.
Kinetic indicators and market outlook
Kinetic indicators show that traders are holding a wait-and-see attitude. The daily relative strength index (RSI) is around 51 and the moving average signal is close to 60-both readings are in the neutral zone. As online activity remains uneven, volume expansion alone cannot confirm new buying demand.
Although the latest data shows that the value of XRP moved on the chain has increased significantly, the market is still in a consolidation stage after recent rounds of rebounds. Online transaction volume is accelerating faster than user activity, reflecting potential concentration in the hands of a few large players.
