Chainlink LINK token hits a new high for the year, and CCIP 2.0 upgrade drives a market breakthrough.

On September 28, Chainlink's $LINK token price soared to the highest level since 2026. After hitting $15.40 during the session, it finally stabilized around $15.24, with an increase of about 7.9% in 24 hours. Trading volume more than tripled on the day to US$1.09 billion, according to CoinMarketCap data, a sign that there is solid market consensus behind the price rise.

CCIP 2.0 triggers a price breakthrough

This price trend is highly consistent with the official launch of CCIP 2.0 by @chainlink. CCIP 2.0 is a major upgrade of the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol. The upgrade allows companies to add additional security checks for transfers between blockchains on top of Chainlink's default 16-node verifier network.

The context of the launch is crucial: It follows the $292 million hack of Kelp DAO in April this year. The incident was blamed on the LayerZero bridging setup's excessive reliance on a single verifier. To promote institutional adoption of digital assets and cross-chain operations, Chainlink has launched CCIP 2.0 as its next-generation protocol.

对于现有的集成案例，过渡过程旨在保持平滑。部署完成后，现有集成无需更改即可继续运行，这使得已经使用该协议的受监管金融机构能够更便捷地接入升级后的系统。
