Quant's QNT token soared more than 400% in a week after being selected by the American clearing house.
On September 21, the price of Quant (QNT) token was approximately US$67, and then soared to a peak of US$340 on September 28 in seven days, an increase of more than 400%. As of press time, the price had dropped back to about $235. According to CoinGecko, the token's market value is close to $3.4 billion.
Core Driving Force: The Clearing House chooses Quant
The trigger point for this rally was the announcement that "The Clearing House" has chosen Quant to provide technical support for its "On-Chain Money Initiative." The Clearing House is a U.S. payments company that processes more than $2 trillion in settlements every day through wire transfers, automated clearing houses (ACH) and real-time payment networks.
The "On-Chain Money Initiative" is an interoperable payment network designed to allow financial institutions to record and process tokenized deposits-a digital representation of traditional bank deposits-on blockchain infrastructure. Quant will provide interoperability and transaction management layers, connecting the network to existing payment systems including RTP (Real-Time Payments) and CHIPS (New York Clearing House Interbank Payment System). According to the announcement, the network is expected to be launched to participating institutions in the first half of 2027.
Widespread adoption of global institutions
Quant CEO Gilbert Verdian said this choice is a decisive step in the global transition to programmable currency. He said tokenized deposits are becoming a standard way for banks to transfer funds along the chain.
In addition to the results achieved in the United States, Quant has also made significant progress internationally:
- European Central Bank: Quant was previously selected to assist in testing the digital euro.
- United Kingdom: Major banks such as Barclays Bank, HSBC Bank, Lloyds Bank and National Westminster Bank have recently used tokenized sterling deposits built on Quant's infrastructure to complete real customer transactions.
- Murex Platform Integration: Quant is now integrated into Murex MX.3, a trading and settlement platform used by 65 of the world's 100 largest banks.
Market Analysis and Future Outlook
Cryptocurrency analyst Ted Pillows pointed out on the X platform that QNT has broken through a five-year downward trend. He added that if current momentum remains, the price of the token could triple from current levels.
Ted Pillows analyzed: "$QNT has experienced a crazy rise this week, tripling. Here's how it works: The Clearing House, which settles $2 trillion a day for 25 major U.S. banks, has selected Quant for its on-chain capital network; in addition, Quant is built into Murex MX.3 software, which runs the business of 65 of the world's 100 largest banks."
It is worth noting that the historical high of QNT is US$427, set in September 2021, and the current price is still about 80% lower than the historical high.
