Zcash 的量子升级计划
Zakura 的一名工程师 Roman Akhtariev 在工程博客中写道：“我们的团队计划让后量子签名操作码（opcodes）在 1 月落地 Zcash。”

The plan covers transparent payments, the public part of the network, which operates in a manner similar to Bitcoin (BTC) transfers, with addresses and amounts visible on the blockchain. According to ZecStats, the pool holds approximately 11.96 million of the 16.98 million ZECs in issue, accounting for approximately seven-tenths of all coins in circulation.
Zakura has also built a search tool based on private information retrieval that is experimentally integrated into the Vizor wallet, allowing users to query balances without exposing to the server which addresses belong to the same group.
Justin Drake's warning and market reaction
The above blog post follows a warning issued on Thursday by Ethereum researcher Justin Drake, who urged holders to prepare for so-called "bunker mode." Drake said that in the worst-case scenario, artificial intelligence may find a shortcut to achieve breakthroughs "in months rather than years" through mathematical algorithms that protect Bitcoin and Ethereum wallets.
As of now, there has been no actual attack demonstration against these wallet keys. Despite this, the market responded. ZEC closed at about $1,185 on Thursday, down about 11% from the previous week, before trading around $1,240 on Friday, CoinGecko data showed.
Zcash blocked payment roadmap
Blocking payments (hiding sender, recipient, and amount) requires a separate effort. Zcash's own anti-quantum recovery design warns that if attackers hold the recipient's address, they can keep encrypted payment records today and attempt to decrypt them after a mathematical breakthrough in the future.
The January goal was arrived at after months of quantum planning across the Zcash ecosystem. Josh Swihart, CEO of the Zcash Open Development Lab, said at a conference in Miami in May that the project aims to achieve a full quantum-resistant state within 12 to 18 months. A network upgrade in July introduced Ironwood notes that are resistant to quantum recovery, and Shielded Labs launched the Epoch project on October 1, with the goal of achieving production-ready quantum resilience by the end of 2027.
