BTC MARA Holdings purchased 1,292 bitcoins worth approximately US$98.64 million.
MARA Holdings recently purchased 1,292 bitcoins worth approximately US$98.64 million. The move marks the company's restart of its Bitcoin accumulation strategy while expanding its artificial intelligence infrastructure and data center business.
According to data from Arkham Intelligence, MARA completed the purchase through a FalconX OTC transaction, with an average price of US$76,347 per bitcoin. The acquisition changes the direction of MARA's recent treasury, after selling a large amount of bitcoin in the first half of 2026 to strengthen financial strength and support business expansion.
Previously, MARA sold more than 20,880 bitcoins worth approximately US$1.5 billion. The proceeds are mainly used to reduce debt, repurchase convertible bonds, and invest in data centers for artificial intelligence. Affected by this, the bitcoin balance in MARA's operating wallet dropped to 9,658. When the bitcoin price was approximately US$75,494, the value of these assets was approximately US$729.7 million. In addition, Fidelity Custody holds more than 25,000 bitcoins for MARA, allowing it to continue to remain a major corporate bitcoin holder.
Rising mining costs push MARA to move to a hybrid strategy
MARA's purchase comes as listed bitcoin miners are facing higher costs and weak revenue from providing computing power. CoinShares estimates that in the second quarter of 2026, the average cost for a listed mining company to produce a bitcoin was US$75,500.

面对挑战，MARA正在开发能够同时支持比特币挖矿和人工智能计算服务的数据中心。这种混合模式有望从计算工作中产生额外收入，同时使比特币继续成为公司金库策略的核心。值得注意的是，FalconX的交易表明，尽管MARA在人工智能领域进行了大量投资，但其仍致力于选择性积累比特币。
此次购买也替代了部分此前用于资助财务重组和基础设施开发的比特币。MARA renewed accumulation（恢复积累）在加强其储备的同时，并未逆转其更广泛的人工智能计算扩张战略。
