The U.S. Department of Commerce deploys Chainlink oracle technology to distribute official economic statistics to public blockchain networks
The plan covers six independent data sources that track GDP, inflation indicators and private sales data, covering 10 different blockchain platforms including Ethereum, Base and Arbitrum. Data is updated monthly or quarterly, synchronized with the Bureau of Economic Analysis's official release schedule.
Market watcher @TheEliteCrypto pointed out that LINK's current market value is close to US$8.5 billion and views US$10 billion as a key resistance level. Standard Chartered Bank predicts that LINK may reach US$200 by the end of 2030, driven by the expansion of tokenized assets.
Chainlink oracle infrastructure analysis
In a groundbreaking initiative, the U.S. Department of Commerce has integrated Chainlink's oracle infrastructure to transmit verified economic statistics to the public blockchain network. The Bureau of Economic Analysis serves as a source of data for three key indicators: real GDP data, the PCE price index, and actual final sales to private domestic buyers.
Each economic indicator corresponds to two independent data sources: the first reports absolute current values, and the second shows the quarter-to-quarter percentage change on an annualized basis. This configuration produces a total of six different data streams. These data sources run simultaneously in 10 blockchain ecosystems: Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Botanix, Linea, Mantle, Optimism, Sonic and ZKsync. According to Chainlink representatives, if market demand permits, more networks may join the program.
Data updates fully follow the official release calendar of the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis and occur monthly or quarterly based on specific economic indicators. Blockchain participants receive the same information as distributed through traditional government channels and reformatted to be compatible with smart contracts. The real GDP indicator measures inflation-adjusted national economic output, calculated in 2017 chained dollars. The PCE Price Index is the Federal Reserve's main inflation benchmark and is closely watched by equity, fixed income, foreign exchange and cryptocurrency market participants. Actual final sales to private domestic buyers exclude fluctuations in government spending, international trade balances and inventories, and collectively reflect consumer behavior and private sector investment patterns.
Market Analysis and LINK Price Forecast
Cryptocurrency market analyst @TheEliteCrypto observed that LINK's market value is currently hovering around US$8.5 billion, a significant increase from the US$3 billion to US$6 billion range during the previous market adjustment period. The analyst sees $6 billion as a key support level and $10 billion as the next important resistance level.
Standard Chartered Bank has set LINK's valuation target of US$200 through 2030, which analyst Geoff Kendrick attributes to the expected expansion of tokenized asset markets and decentralized financial agreements. The financial institution predicts that by the end of 2028, the total value of blockchain-based assets could reach US$4 trillion.
Chainlink recently expanded its service to launch a source of price data for tokenized stocks issued by Coinbase on the Base network, including NVDAc, AAPLc, METAc, and GOOGLc, to support mortgage agreements in the DeFi ecosystem.
