Wyoming upgrades its stablecoin verification mechanism to use Chainlink Reserve Proof to achieve real-time on-chain monitoring
Wyoming is upgrading its state-issued "Frontier Stabilizing Tokens"(FRNT) reserve verification method, moving from regular audits to near-real-time on-chain certificates. The Wyoming Stability Tokens Council said it has expanded its integration with Chainlink to publish verified reserve and token supply data through Chainlink's Proof of Reserves feature.
This change is designed to help market participants track reserve positions more quickly between formal disclosure cycles. According to the committee, the system combines independent reserve reviews conducted by The Network Firm with Chainlink's infrastructure, with data being made public on the chain in near real time.
Core Points
The Wyoming Stability Tokens Council stated that it has used Chainlink's reserve certificate to publish verified FRNT reserve and supply data on the chain.
Wyoming has previously conducted a daily reserve audit of FRNT; the new plan aims to give the market a more timely understanding of reserve changes between reporting cycles.
The committee is also advancing Chainlink's "safe casting" plan, which aims to require verified reserves to cover the token supply before adding FRNT tokens.
About two weeks ago, FRNT completely migrated from LayerZero to Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as its exclusive cross-chain infrastructure.
From regular audits to near real-time verification
FRNT is a Wyoming stablecoin backed by U.S. dollars and short-term U.S. Treasury bonds. Previously, Wyoming's disclosures included daily reserve audits, maintaining the pace of regular verification.
The committee's latest announcement focuses on Chainlink's proof of reserves, which aims to bring the verification process closer to real-time by publishing the verified reserve status and supply of tokens in circulation directly on the chain. The committee said the mechanism combines The Network Firm's independent review with Chainlink's data and verification infrastructure.
This difference is important because the reserves of stablecoins can change rapidly in daily operations, and the interval between reporting cycles is often the focus of investors 'risk assessments. The committee noted that its existing framework includes monthly disclosures required by the GENIUS Act, covering the composition of reserves and the supply of stablecoins in circulation. By providing near-real-time on-chain data, this upgrade aims to reduce uncertainty during regular reporting intervals.
Wyoming's disclosure framework requirements and changes
Wyoming already operates within a disclosure framework that includes daily reserve audits and additional requirements at the federal or state level. The committee referred to the GENIUS Act's monthly disclosure requirements on the composition of reserves and the supply of stablecoins in circulation.
Under the extended Chainlink integration, the committee's clear goal is not to eliminate these formal obligations, but to add faster visibility to them. In short: Monthly disclosures remain the benchmark for comprehensive reporting, while near-real-time on-chain certification is designed to help observers see reserve movements earlier.
The committee also hinted at the next step: adopting Chainlink's Secure Mint feature. According to the committee, the idea is to link minting to reserve verification to ensure that before new coins are minted, the verified reserves must equal or exceed the total supply of FRNT.
If implemented as per this plan, this will strengthen the operational linkage between reserves and issuance by adding programmable constraints on casting qualifications. Although the committee did not provide a specific timetable in this update, this direction indicates that it is working hard to move from post-confirmation to a "verification-front" release model.
FRNT fully integrates with Chainlink through CCIP
Prior to this reserve verification upgrade, FRNT has just completed another major Chainlink related development. About two weeks ago, Wyoming announced the complete migration of FRNT from LayerZero to Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), making CCIP the exclusive cross-chain infrastructure for the token.
Integrating reserve verification and cross-chain infrastructure into the same ecosystem helps strengthen consistency in managing token data across functions. Although proof of reserve and cross-chain messaging belong to different technology areas, both need to provide a reliable, verifiable flow of information to users using FRNT across chains.
FRNT was launched in January this year and is backed by U.S. dollars and short-term U.S. Treasury bonds. The committee said interest income from the token reserve deposits will be credited to Wyoming's School Foundation Plan, linking reserve management of stablecoins to state-designated funding channels.
Chainlink's role in tokenization and stablecoin infrastructure continues to expand
Over the past year, Chainlink has become increasingly involved in institutional and tokenized finance application scenarios, and FRNT is another example of its verification and data services being used in regulated or quasi-regulated environments.
Recent integration cases include Chainlink becoming a pricing data provider for B20 tokenized stocks issued by Coinbase based on the Base network. These price data cover stocks such as Apple, Nvidia, Meta and Alphabet, and support DeFi application scenarios such as lending, trading and collateral valuation.
In June this year, Chainlink also participated in the Pangea Project, a cross-regional cooperation project exploring the use of regulated euro and Korean won stablecoins for atomic-level foreign exchange settlement. In addition, Chainlink's technology has also been discussed for a 24/7 tokenized collateral management platform in the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) plan.
Fidelity International has also launched a tokenized liquidity fund that uses Chainlink and Sygnum infrastructure, with JPMorgan providing daily net asset value data for pricing.
Although these developments cover different areas, they share a common focus: reliable data sources and verifiable workflows that can be integrated into financial processes that require timeliness and auditability.
Market observers are also watching the performance of Chainlink Native Tokens (LINK). Data showed that LINK has gained more than 34% in the past month and traded at around $11.07 on Wednesday.
For FRNT holders and other stakeholders, the key observation point is the speed with which Wyoming goes from issuing near-real-time certificates to implementing enforceable casting constraints. The committee's work on Chainlink Secure Mint may further tighten the relationship between verification reserves and token issuance, but readers need to focus on when and whether these controls are actually online and how on-chain proof works during reserve transitions between official reporting cycles.
