BNB Chain agreement revenue surged 42% to a new high since October 2025

On September 9, BNB Chain agreement revenue surged 42% to US$3.2 million, the highest single-day level since October 2025. This significant increase highlights the strong growth in fee-generating activity on the BNB Smart Chain. BNB Smart Chain is a blockchain network launched by Binance that supports the deployment of decentralized applications and smart contracts.

BNB Chain's revenue growth outpaces Bitcoin's trend

Agreed revenue of US$3.2 million increased significantly compared with the US$2.25 million recorded on July 31. At the time, Bitcoin was priced at approximately US$62,400. Since then, the price of Bitcoin has increased by about 26% to $78,400. However, during the same period, BNB Chain's agreement revenue grew much faster than Bitcoin's price increase.

The latest data is about 19% higher than the $2.68 million the network recorded on January 12. By comparison, Bitcoin's current price is 14% lower than its January 12 level of $91,200. This suggests that BNB Chain's revenue is not simply fluctuating in line with broader market trends in Bitcoin.

Despite the recent correction in Bitcoin, fee generation for the BNB smart chain continues to grow independently, and network activity appears to stem from increased participation within its ecosystem. Decentralized exchanges (DEX), token offerings, derivatives platforms and lending agreements all contribute to online revenue. This comprehensive rebound in multiple categories of apps suggests that no matter how volatile Bitcoin prices fluctuate, user engagement is heating up again. Currently, BNB Chain's agreement revenue is at its strongest level in nearly a year, thanks to increased activity on the decentralized finance (DeFi) application chain.

As of the time of writing, the trading price of BNB Chain native token BNB is close to US$727.01, and the 24-hour transaction volume reaches US$1.128 billion. BNB has gained 2.57% in the past 24 hours and 1.10% in the past seven days, continuing its recent upward trend.

Basic networks also recorded a significant increase in revenue.

The surge in protocol revenue is not limited to the BNB smart chain. Ethereum Layer 2 Network Base, developed by Coinbase, reported daily protocol revenue of $1.02 million on September 9, a significant increase from $347,000 on July 31.

Base grew by nearly 194% in five weeks, exceeding the percentage increase in BNB Intelligent Chain over the same period, indicating that on-chain expense activity is showing widespread momentum across the industry. Generally, higher agreement revenue means more active use of decentralized exchanges, lending platforms and token launch sites. Such activity may come from retail traders or from large holders, although current data does not clearly indicate which group is driving current revenue growth for BNB Smart Chain or Base.

Higher agreement revenue on BNB Smart Chain and Base suggests that regardless of overall market fluctuations, on-chain engagement is increasing in key areas such as DeFi and token issuance. Historical trends suggest that dominant activities by large holders are often accompanied by more stable price movements, and periods dominated by retail traders may in some cases overlap with the distribution behavior of large holders. However, current agreement revenue data alone cannot distinguish between the sources of revenue growth on any one network.
