LABITCONF 2026 returns strongly with the theme of "HODL"
Buenos Aires, August 2026. As one of the most influential Bitcoin, blockchain and artificial intelligence activities in the Spanish-speaking world, LABITCONF has once again returned to Buenos Aires, bringing together thousands of participants to discuss the impact of these technologies on people's lives and business development and future prospects.
For the fifth consecutive year, LABITCONF chose Argentina as the venue for its 14th Congress. The regional flagship conference is also one of the oldest Bitcoin and blockchain technology conferences in the world. This year, artificial intelligence (AI) was included as a key protagonist in the dialogue.
LABITCONF is known for its size, vitality and diversity: it is an event tailored for industry practitioners, enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and beginners who are new to the field.
HODL: It's much more than just "not selling"
Every year, LABITCONF chooses a core concept that runs through the entire event. The theme for 2026 is "HODL"-in Bitcoin slang, this basically means "Don't sell BTC." But LABITCONF is not here to discuss price fluctuations. HODL represents a knowledge reserve, forward-looking vision, financial revolution, and the philosophy needed to build beliefs that helps people understand why people choose to hold on to Bitcoin despite its ups and downs.
Rodolfo Andragnes, organizer of LABITCONF and founder of ONG Bitcoin Argentina, said:
"The key is belief in the future of Bitcoin-a belief that is not driven by price, but stems from a very different understanding of economics. We call it the 'orange pill' and it's like the pill that opens our eyes and leads us to rethink the definitions of the role of the state, bank, trust, origin of value, etc."
LABITCONF HODL is open to everyone. "At the event, you will see executives in suits standing side by side with developers with laptops, families with children or participants dressed up. This is a unique event with multiple simultaneous stages designed for different levels of needs." Andragnes explained.
What will LABITCONF present this year?
During the two days of the main session, six stages will be set up, covering everything from financial education, introduction to Bitcoin and blockchain to advanced programming, transactions, workshops and business development. In addition, there will be spaces dedicated to philosophical, economic and social reflection, as well as a stage focusing on the future, the impact of technology and artificial intelligence.
One of the highlights is the permanent self-hosted exhibition area called "la Bitcoineta". Participants can experience first-hand how to protect assets: generate keys, set up wallets, plan inheritance, and gain an in-depth understanding of the risks and benefits of self-hosting Bitcoin through free lectures and consultations provided by BitcoinAR experts.
To capture the unique energy that defines the event, attendees will also attend a "HODLWeen" party at its closing session on Saturday, October 31.
The excitement of LABITCONF does not stop there. Participants who choose the four-day "experience ticket" will also participate in exclusive activities before and after the main meeting. On the evening of October 29, a social event for executives will be held and a giant statue of Satish Nakamoto will be unveiled in the Parque de la Innovación Park. The move will put Buenos Aires in line with Lugano, Switzerland, Bitcoin Beach in El Zonte, El Salvador, Tokyo, Japan, Hanoi, Vietnam, Miami, the United States, and Wall Street in New York, all of which have established public sculptures paying tribute to Bitcoin creators.
Saifedean Ammous makes his debut at South American Conference
The number one guest at this conference is Saifedean Ammous, author of Bitcoin Standards, who is one of the core figures in global Bitcoin thinking.
He was also speaking with Giovanni Santostasi (scientist and founder of Bitcoin's power-law theory), Giacomo Zucco, Joe Nakamoto, Lunaticoin, Alberto Mera and many highly regarded analysts and disseminators on global Bitcoin adoption; there were also international experts in quantum computing, artificial intelligence and mining.
The event will also invite well-known local opinion leaders, podcast hosts and community representatives, as well as representatives of private companies and the Argentine public sector.
