On Thursday, Intel's share price rose about 8%, as investors continued to buy reports that SK Hynix may produce memory chips in the Ohio campus where Intel has postponed construction. The day before, boosted by news of relevant negotiations, the stock closed up 4%.
Potential cooperation models and official responses
Three people familiar with the matter reported on Wednesday that the two sides are exploring the possibility of cooperation, and the news immediately attracted market attention. Intel's closing price rose 4.03% to $101.05 that day. Then on Thursday, Intel's share price climbed further to near $111 as the entire semiconductor sector rebounded strongly.
Currently, there are two main ideas: one is that SK Hynix will lease some facilities in Intel's planned Ohio campus; the other is that Intel will form a joint venture with a large cloud computing company seeking to stabilize memory supply. As of now, neither party has confirmed that any agreement has been reached. SK Hynix said it was exploring options to enhance competitiveness but had not yet determined specific plans; Intel declined to comment and reiterated its commitment to the Ohio project.
Analyst's view: OEM business urgently needs external customers

尽管前景乐观，该部门仍亟需支持。英特尔代工部门第二季度营收为58亿美元，但其中仅有2.93亿美元来自英特尔以外的客户。不过，该部门的运营亏损已从一年前的32亿美元收窄至21亿美元。
项目延期与市场波动
俄亥俄州项目的进展既推动了市场的热情，也带来了谨慎情绪。英特尔曾预计该耗资约280亿美元的园区将于2025年投产，但在2025年2月宣布，首批工厂最早要到2030年才能完工。此外，韩国贸易部警告称，若涉及国家核心技术，相关交易可能面临审查。
两家公司并非陌生伙伴。SK海力士此前曾以90亿美元的价格收购英特尔的NAND闪存业务，因此若在俄亥俄州达成租赁协议，相当于将买家重新纳入英特尔园区体系。
过去一年中，英特尔股价经历了剧烈震荡。过去52周内，该股最低曾跌至24.45美元，并在6月22日创下140.94美元的历史收盘价纪录。随后，在经历年初至9月11日累计涨幅达183%后，受芯片板块抛售影响，该股于9月14日滑落至97.19美元。
