CEO Dario Amodi has publicly advocated slowing the pace of AI development, pointing out the possibility that increasingly complex future systems could cause serious harm.
Meanwhile, the company is positioning itself for a public offering that analysts predict could be valued at US$2 trillion.
Kauderer-Abrams outlines Anthropic's vision to have Claude AI control experimental robotic laboratory systems with minimal human intervention. However, the company emphasized that human supervision remains crucial.
Alphabet's drug discovery division, Isomorphic Labs, has been conducting clinical trials for several years and recently postponed its schedule until the end of 2026. Anthropic has not yet attempted human trials.
In August this year, the company launched the Model Hardware Standard, which aims to promote the interaction between AI and laboratory instruments. In terms of staffing and capital allocation, life sciences have now become one of Anthropic's most significant commitments.
