Binance Payments brings cryptocurrency consumption to millions of PayPay merchants in Japan

Binance Pay 通过 HIVEX 支付网络向符合条件的海外用户开放日本 PayPay 商户的加密货币支付服务

Binance Pay 宣布，已通过 HIVEX 支付网络，向在日本众多支持 PayPay 的商户处进行消费的、来自全球 100 多个国家和地区的符合条件的海外用户开放加密货币支付功能。

Binance 于 9 月 30 日表示，此次服务升级使约 4800 万名来自 100 多个国家和地区的符合条件的 Binance Pay 用户在访问日本时，能够接入支持 PayPay 的商户网络。在此交易中，商户继续以日元结算，而加密货币交易部分则由 Binance Pay 及其关联的支付基础设施处理。

该服务专为海外旅行者设计，可用于餐厅、商店、住宿及其他支持 PayPay 支付流程的商业场所的消费。用户可以通过 Binance Pay 扫描商户的 PayPay 二维码直接付款；在支持的情况下，用户也可在 Binance App 中展示付款码，由商户扫码完成交易。

根据 Binance 的规定，日本居民不符合使用该功能的资格。海外用户必须来自 Binance Pay 支持的司法管辖区，并完成交易所的身份验证流程。

HIVEX 连接 Binance Pay 与 PayPay 商户网络

HIVEX 提供了 Binance Pay 与 PayPay 商户网络之间的连接，使得海外支付服务能够利用日本企业已有的二维码基础设施。PayPay 将 HIVEX 描述为一项允许访客在参与的 PayPay 商户处使用支持的海外二维码支付应用的服务。企业无需单独集成连接到网络的每个海外钱包。

在 Binance Pay 加入该网络之前，该系统已被用于连接多个海外支付服务与 PayPay。今年早些时候，此前有报道指出，PayPay 已通过 HIVEX 为使用 UnionPay App 的游客添加了银联二维码支付功能。继银联之后，PayPay 表示其商户网络现可接收来自覆盖 17 个国家和地区的 36 种海外无现金服务的付款。该公司估计，这些服务所代表的国家和地区约占赴日国际游客的 80%。

PayPay 商户继续接收日元结算

对于商户而言，即使 Binance Pay 用户使用数字资产资助购买，支付流程仍与本地 PayPay 系统绑定。Binance 表示，商户收到的是日元而非加密货币，这消除了个别企业持有或直接处理数字资产的需求。

PayPay 的商户指南指出，HIVEX 交易的流程与普通 PayPay 支付类似。客户可以使用支持的应用程序扫描商店的二维码，或在结账时展示由员工扫描的付款码。商户可以通过“PayPay for Business”确认交易完成。

PayPay said that eligible merchants do not need to submit a separate application to begin receiving HIVEX payments, although merchants can disable the service through their "PayPay for Business" settings. This setup allows Binance Pay to leverage existing payment infrastructure without requiring exchanges to register Japanese restaurants, hotels and retailers one by one.

Binance has been building similar links between its payment services and existing local payment systems. The company's cryptocurrency payments strategy proposed earlier this year juxtaposes payments and stablecoins with its trading business. Binance Research said in April this year that Binance Pay has more than 21 million merchants worldwide and has established connections to domestic payment networks such as Pix in Brazil. As part of exchanges 'efforts to make digital assets available for purchase and transfer, the service supports QR code-based payments.

PayPay and Binance already have a basis for cooperation in Japan

The latest payment service is launched, following the existing partnership between PayPay and Binance's Japanese operating entities. In October 2025, PayPay, a subsidiary of SoftBank Group, acquired a 40% stake in Binance Japan under the capital and business alliance between the two companies. At the time, PayPay had more than 70 million users in Japan. The agreement aims to combine PayPay's cashless payment network with Binance's digital asset services.

日本探索更多使用数字资产进行支付的方式

Japan's retail payments sector has been testing other methods of connecting digital assets to existing checkout infrastructure. Convenience store operator Lawson tested stablecoin payments using JPYC, USDC and USDT at two locations in Tokyo in August this year. The pilot project connects the digital wallet directly to Lawson's existing point-of-sale cash register. Customers display payment barcodes from supported wallets, which employees scan through the normal checkout system, rather than using a separate cryptocurrency payment terminal. Lawson said it will evaluate transaction speed, system stability and store operations before deciding whether to expand deployment.

In addition to retail stores, Japan's payment department is also exploring stablecoin settlement. JCB teamed up with Circle in July this year to test USDC for internal treasury transfers and merchant payments. The first phase focuses on JCB's own cross-border fund transfers and may subsequently expand to retail use.

Binance Pay's latest service takes a different route, connecting overseas cryptocurrency users with the mature Japanese QR code payment network. Gregory said the company sees connectivity to local payment systems as a way to provide digital asset payments through a payment experience that merchants and travelers are already familiar with.

Binance stated that PayPay interoperability through HIVEX was available to eligible Binance Pay users visiting Japan on September 30.
