QNT rebounded after hitting key support levels twice, and its short-term trend entered a volatile range.

Quant (QNT) prices traded to US$258.94 on October 3, rising 8.71% in 24 hours and 145% in the past seven days. Previously, the token fell from a September 27 high of $371.62, wiping out nearly one-third of its market value. The rally began on September 24, when The Clearing House, a payments company owned by the 25 largest financial institutions in the United States, selected Quant to provide technical support for its "on-chain funding program." Subsequently, the wallet address associated with the founder moved the token for the first time after seven years of silence.

Technical analysis: double bottom support and moving average suppression

On the 4-hour chart, the price dropped to around US$225 twice, in early and late sessions respectively. In both falls, buyers stepped in to prevent further declines before prices hit halfway through the $71.30 to $371.62 increase, or $221.46. The subsequent rally pushed QNT higher to $270, but then encountered resistance stagnation.

Currently, the 20-cycle moving average is at US$267.51 and slopes slightly downward, becoming a resistance level for prices. The current K-line closes at US$256.90, which is the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level that serves as the bottom from September 28 to October 1. From a real trading perspective, QNT is limited to a wide range of about 17%: upper resistance is around $267 and lower support is around $221.

  • September 27 high: US$371.62
  • September 30 rebound high: $300.75 (23.6% retracement)
  • October 3 Resistance: US$267.51 (20-cycle moving average)
  • Current price: US$258.94 (Above the 38.2% retracement level of $256.90)
  • Key support: $221.46 (50% retracement position, two successful defenses on October 2)
  • Secondary support: $219.72 (50-cycle moving average, showing an upward trend)
  • Deep support: US$186.02 (61.8% retracement level, pause zone on September 27)

Why US$221 now has dual supporting attributes

The 50-cycle moving average has climbed to US$219.72 from US$206.61 the previous day, just US$2 short of the 50% retracement level. When the rising moving average meets the Fibonacci retracement line, traders who follow these two technical indicators will concentrate their orders in the same price range. This makes the region more difficult to break through, and once it breaks through, it will have greater market significance. If this support breaks below, the next reference point is US$186.02, where QNT consolidated for most of September 27 before launching its final offensive.

In the upward direction, US$300.75 is still the key level to overcome. QNT broke through that level on September 30, reaching about $325, but failed to maintain its gains, forming a secondary high below the high of $371.62.

RSI indicator returns to neutral, trading volume shrinks

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is currently at 53.17, crossing its own average of 52.22 for the first time since late September. During the previous rebound, the RSI remained in the overbought region above 80 for three consecutive days. As overheating sentiment subsided, prices still retained about two-thirds of their increase, which means that market momentum is currently neutral.

The volume story is calmer. The physical size of the 4-hour K-line hit its lowest since the breakthrough, with 24-hour trading volume falling to US$375.46 million from approximately US$465 million the previous day, although this is still equivalent to 12% of market value.

The Clearing House project does not mandate the use of QNT

Social media once interpreted the news as "25 banks selected Quant," but it was actually a company that made the choice. The Clearing House announced the plan on June 5 and received statements of support from 17 institutions, including JPMorgan Chase, Citibank and Wells Fargo. The number "25" refers to the number of owners of the organization.

Quant will provide an interoperability layer and handle transaction orchestration. Currently, tokenized deposits are usually confined to within the issuing bank. The plan builds a network that allows tokens sent from one bank to arrive as matching deposits at another bank and settle interbank obligations through RTP and CHIPS channels, which handle more than $2 trillion in clearing volume per day.

As of now, neither party has stated that the bank must purchase, pledge or pay the fees in QNT. The value of the contract was not publicly disclosed. The price response is mainly based on traders 'expectations of the potential impact of the order on the token.

The founder's associated wallet still has a large number of positions

The online monitoring platform Lookonchain marked a transfer record on September 30. An address related to founder Gilbert Verdian, which had been dormant for about seven years, sent 25,776 QNTs worth approximately $6.97 million to a newly created wallet. Since no exchange recharge record has been discovered, this move does not constitute a sell-off. The original address still holds approximately 600,000 QNT units, which is close to 5% of the current implied supply by market value.

The next day, QNT started trading on the Solana network through Sunrise, with Raydium serving as the trading venue. The Ethereum contract is still valid, and Quant's institutional products do not run on Solana.

Outlook for key points

If the 4-hour closing price stands above the 20-cycle moving average (US$267), US$300.75 will be re-entered into view and break the trend sequence of the next highest point moving downward. If the price closes below $221, the double support will be removed, exposing a 16% lower support of $186.02. Until then, tokens will be traded within ranges, and any transfer from the founder's associated address to the exchange will be the first sell signal on the chain.

The banking industry's timetable is much slower than the chart. The Clearing House expects the network to be open to participating institutions in the first half of 2027. Quant plans to provide its Tokenised Deposits-as-a-Service product to U.S. institutions that process business through The Clearing House but lack their own tokenization capabilities, which will bring regional and mid-sized banks into the system.
