Uniswap's UNI token rose 7%: Robinhood Chain integration drives fee growth, triggers token destruction

Uniswap's UNI token rose nearly 7% from a 24-hour low, thanks to new developments in decentralized exchanges and Robinhood Chain integration, as well as recent governance reforms that enhance the utility of tokens.

Robinhood Chain driver fees surge and new platform launch

Uniswap Labs announced the launch of pools.trade, a native token creation platform specifically tailored for Robinhood Chain. The move comes as Robinhood Chain has become one of the protocol's main fee generators, competing with Uniswap's networks deployed on Ethereum, Arbitrum and Base.

Now integrates with Uniswap v4 's pools.trade, allowing project teams to issue new tokens and automatically create a pool of liquidity owned by the protocol. Unlike traditional launch platforms, liquidity management and compounding of creator fees in these pools are automated, reducing manual intervention by token issuers.

The platform introduces two token issuance paths: instant issuance uses a traditional coalition curve to provide instant transaction access; crowdfunding issuance uses a four-hour window and a bidding mechanism based on a time-weighted average price to limit robot activity during launch.

Tokens issued through pools.trade are immediately accessible on the Uniswap Web app, wallet and API, and all transactions are routed through Uniswap v4 and an agreement fee is incurred from the first transaction.

Uniswap Labs emphasized that Robinhood Chain's rapid fee generation currently accounts for nearly half of Uniswap's weekly agreement revenue, as tokenized stock trading drives continued trading volume, making the chain a key pillar of the exchange.

Since its launch as the Arbitrum Orbit Layer 2 network, Robinhood Chain has enabled Uniswap to provide decentralized trading of tokenized stocks such as Apple, Nvidia and Google, even outside traditional market trading hours. In its first ten days of launch, Robinhood Chain processed more than US$6 billion in exchange transaction volume and contributed a stable fee flow, while the pure cryptocurrency market usually sees only sporadic fee peaks.

Governance reforms stimulate UNI buy-back and destruction

Recent governance approvals, including Proposition 100, have implemented comprehensive reforms to the way Uniswap protocol fees are allocated. Historically, UNI was used only as a governance asset, while liquidity providers charged full transaction fees.

As governance reforms take effect, some exchange fees have been redirected to TokenJar smart contracts. Automated mechanisms compete to buy assets from TokenJar, buy UNI on the open market, and then bridge it to Ethereum and destroy it permanently-thereby reducing the circulating supply.

Agreement revenue has increased significantly, with daily revenue rising from approximately US$114,000 to more than US$325,000, and token destruction will accelerate as long as network activity continues. This provides direct cash flow gains for UNI holders, linking agreement use to continued buybacks and supply reductions.

Uniswap's new fee structure effectively transforms UNI into a deflationary asset, as real agreement gains now drive regular buybacks and token destruction associated with the platform's multi-chain activities.

Technical Outlook and Market Positioning

UNI rose from US$3.92 to US$4.19 in the day, and the latest trading price was approximately US$4.09. This week's increase was 2% and the monthly increase exceeded 30%. The daily chart shows that UNI remains above the 20th, 50th, 100th and 200th index moving averages, indicating continued buying momentum.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is close to 58, indicating that bullish momentum remains despite a retreat from recent highs. During the 4-hour time frame, UNI prices hovered around the volume-weighted average price (VWAP), and the MACD indicator remained positive but leveled off as momentum weakened after this rise.

Trading volume increased during the UNI surge towards US$4.19 and then decreased as the tokens entered the consolidation phase. Key resistance is in the US$4.18 to US$4.25 range, and if it breaks through this area, highly leveraged positions may trigger additional buying pressure. Direct support is around $4.00, with more concentrated liquidity clusters between $3.88 and $3.90.

As traders focus on the next decisive move for UNI, financial instruments such as CryptoAppsy are enhancing market analysis capabilities. Without creating an account, CryptoAppsy provides real-time prices, advanced charts and multi-currency portfolio management. Features include setting up smart price alerts, filtering for specific token news, and obtaining key macroeconomic data (including Federal Reserve interest rates)-critical to quickly respond to changes in UNI's technical and fundamental landscape.
