DeFi Technologies gets additional 180 Skyline period from Nasdaq
Toronto-based financial technology company DeFi Technologies (which owns Valour Exchange-traded products) announced on September 3 that Nasdaq has granted it an additional 180 Skyline grace period to re-meet the exchange's minimum bid requirement for $1. The company said in its announcement that it is committed to building a bridge between traditional capital markets and decentralized finance (DeFi).
Nasdaq Notification Details
DeFi Technologies stated that the company received a written notification from Nasdaq because the closing price of its common stock (ticker code: DEFT) traded on the Nasdaq Capital Market was below US$1 for 30 consecutive business days. The company first disclosed this compliance defect as early as March 5, 2026, and was provided with an initial 180-day rectification window, which expired on September 1, 2026.
Given that the company still meets the publicly held market value continuing listing requirements and all other applicable listing criteria in addition to the lowest quote rule, it is eligible for the second grace period. The notice will not immediately affect the listing or trading of stocks, and stocks will continue to be traded normally on the exchange.
DEFT Follow-up Outlook
To return to compliance, stocks must close at US$1.00 or above for at least ten consecutive trading days within an additional grace period (at any point as of early March 2027). DeFi Technologies said it will continue to monitor offers and evaluate feasible options to fix the flaw.
The company warned that there was no guarantee that compliance would be restored within the additional period or that Nasdaq's continuing listing requirements would continue to be maintained. In addition, its shares are listed on the Cboe Canada exchange (symbol: DEFI) and additional quotes are available on exchanges in Frankfurt and Brazil.
DeFi Technologies Background Overview
DeFi Technologies operates the Valour platform, which provides exchange-traded products (ETP) for digital asset exposure to retail and institutional investors through traditional accounts, and works with digital asset liquidity provider Stillman Digital. The company has used Valour to expand its across venues ETP product line, and its Nasdaq listing has become a reference point for publicly traded cryptocurrency companies. The company also directs investors to the analyst coverage list on its investor relations page.
The company positions itself as a vertically integrated digital asset platform, and its listing on the Nasdaq Capital Market represents its main U.S. stock exchange quotation channel.
