Launchpad beyond the market: The rise of Pons
Since its official launch on July 13, 2026,@ponsdotfamily has become one of the high-profile agreements in the Robinhood Chain ecosystem. The platform quickly established its position as the dominant token issuance platform in the @RobinhoodCrypto second-layer network, accounting for more than half of the issuance on some days and processing billions of dollars in cumulative transaction volume in just a few weeks of launch.
Pons launched on July 13, 2026, which means that in less than two months it became a strong contender to a platform with a two-and-a-half-year first-mover advantage-Pump.fun, which has long been regarded as the standard for issuing Memecoin. Since August 29, Pons has continued to overtake Pump.fun in daily fee revenue; before that, it had led by six days at the end of July, and then fell behind by about a month. Recently, Pons 'single-day fee revenue hit a record high of US$5.95 million.
Pons runs on Robinhood's second-layer network, which allows users executing transactions to bear almost no Gas fees. The platform charges a 1% handling fee for each transaction, of which approximately 30% belongs to the agreement and 70% belongs to the token creator. This creator-biased revenue distribution model is a key driver in attracting user adoption. In less than two months, Pons has accumulated transaction volume of more than $4.5 billion.
$PONS token achieves a 50-fold increase
The agreement's native $PONS asset trend is highly consistent with Launchpad's rise trajectory. According to CoinMarketCap data,$PONS has surged 5,720% in the past 90 days, achieving a more than 50-fold increase from its low. The token hit an all-time high of $0.9683 on September 5, 2026, after recording a all-time low of $0.003783 in mid-July.
Multiple catalysts contributed to this rise. Market momentum prompted PONS to gain wider exposure, including its inclusion on the Binance Alpha list on September 2. Shortly after, Uniswap Labs purchased PONS in a move that Launchpad said was aimed at achieving "long-term alignment," but neither party disclosed the size, price or structure of the deal.
Token economics further strengthens demand-side dynamics. The agreement will use 80% of its revenue to repurchase and destroy PONS, and has so far destroyed 29% of the original supply of 1 billion pieces. Robinhood Chain's 90-day Gas exemption period will end around September 29, which will be a key point in testing whether platform activities can be maintained after free trading ends.
However, the risks remain significant. The project founder is anonymous, the v2 contract is still under audit, and the entire revenue model relies on demand for memoin, which may disappear as quickly as it emerged.
