RLUSD Artificial intelligence agents are becoming economic entities
As artificial intelligence (AI) agents gradually evolve into independent economic participants, the need for matching payment infrastructure becomes increasingly urgent. Ripple has now placed XRP and its U.S. dollar stable currency RLUSD at the heart of this infrastructure.
XRPL AI Starter Kit Released
According to CoinDesk, Ripple has launched the XRPL AI Starter Kit. The developer kit enables AI agents to initiate autonomous payments using XRP on XRP Ledger (XRPL) and the dollar-backed stablecoin RLUSD. The suite integrates with the open standard Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) co-drafted by Stripe and Tempo.
Through this integration, AI agents can implement regular payments and manage wallets on multiple blockchains.

Technical Operating Mechanism
The XRPL AI Launcher Kit provides developers with specific tools to build smart payment applications. It includes an XRPL Document MCP server, a Claude Skills module for wallet creation, balance query and payment, and support for the x402 payment standard.
RippleX's senior vice president said XRPL is the infrastructure built for this future vision, and support for x402 allows agents to make payments immediately using XRP and RLUSD.
MPP exceeds the single payment limit. Stripe and Tempo designed a mechanism based on "session" primitives: agents pre-authorize consumption limits and continue to stream micropayments, eliminating the need to initiate new on-chain transactions with each interaction. It is this feature that makes large-scale regular agency payments possible.
Ripple's layout in the ecosystem
This integration with Stripe and Tempo is not an isolated event. In July 2026, Ripple joined the x402 Foundation as a senior member, along with Coinbase, Circle, Stripe, Shopify and American Express.
The x402 protocol was originally developed by Coinbase and is now governed by the Linux Foundation. It has processed more than 120 million transactions on 14 blockchains, with settlement amounts exceeding US$41 million.
In addition, Mastercard has appointed Ripple as a partner in its "Agent Pay for Machines" initiative, one of more than 30 launching partners in Mastercard's agent commerce network. Currently, Ripple has achieved active integration in x402, MPP and MasterCard's agent technology stacks.
XRP's new positioning in the era of artificial intelligence
