Coinbase虚拟账户连接法币与稳定币
Coinbase chose Citigroup's virtual account wallet infrastructure to support Coinbase virtual accounts. The service provides Coinbase payment customers with account-like tools for receiving, holding and sending funds. Payments received in fiat can also be automatically converted into stablecoins.
Citi provides the regulated banking infrastructure that supports connectivity between digital asset platforms and traditional financial networks. Coinbase can provide broader access to fiat currencies without establishing a separate banking system. The service also supports scalable transfer between regular currencies and digital assets.
Virtual account products are part of Citi's Banking-as-a-Service business. Citi has designed infrastructure for companies that need to integrate banking and payment functions. Coinbase gained access to the established financial track while maintaining its digital asset payment services.
Adding stablecoin payments through the Spring platform
Citigroup will also enable its institutional customers to accept stablecoin payments through its Spring by Citi platform. Coinbase Payments will support the digital currency acceptance process. The system will convert stablecoins into fiat before Citi settles merchant funds.
This structure allows merchants to accept stablecoins without having to directly hold or manage digital assets. Citi said the service could reach more than 150 million stablecoin holders around the world. This setting reduces the operational requirements for entering a digital asset payment company.
