KakaoPay announced agreements with Dinari and Ondo on Tuesday to cover the acquisition of underlying South Korean shares, the construction of tokenization infrastructure and potential distribution outside South Korea.

According to the cooperation agreement with Dinari, the two parties will run a proof-of-concept project using Dinari's dShares model. The model aims to preserve applicable shareholder rights, including dividend rights and voting rights. Currently, Dinari offers 724 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETF products through dShares; this cooperation with KakaoPay aims to expand this model to equity assets listed in South Korea.

Dinari CEO Gabe Otte told Cointelegraph that no specific South Korean listed companies have been selected for proof-of-concept, and no commercialization timetable has been announced. He pointed out that the proposed model would use locally listed South Korean stocks as the underlying asset, rather than just simple tokens that track their prices.

Collaboration with Ondo Finance: Framework establishment and compliance research
