FollowingAnthropic may spend US$84.5 billion to purchase Nvidia computing power provided by xAI.
According to Reuters citing a confidential IPO prospectus on September 29, artificial intelligence company Anthropic plans to purchase Nvidia based computing power through its partner xAI-a subsidiary owned by Elon Musk's SpaceX. Total expenditures may reach US$84.5 billion as of 2029. Most of these agreements can be cancelled with 90 days 'notice and are part of Anthropic's larger AI infrastructure construction.
The developers of the Claude model expect to spend at least US$518 billion to six infrastructure partners over the next decade, as the ability to gain computing power becomes increasingly important for training advanced AI models.
Computing power supply becomes a major constraint on growth
Anthropic said that future growth is "mainly limited by the availability of computing power." The disclosure further details the details of a cooperation announced in May this year. SpaceX previously said Anthropic has agreed to pay $1.25 billion per month until May 2029 to access approximately 325,000 Nvidia GPUs in its Colossus computing infrastructure. Over the entire contract period, the value of this commitment is close to $45 billion.
Since acquiring xAI in February this year, SpaceX is deeply involved in artificial intelligence. The merger brings Musk's Grok development team into SpaceX, while allowing the company to use its expanding computing infrastructure internally and lease remaining capacity to external customers including Anthropic and Google.
分析师看好 AI 算力租赁业务前景
