Cryptocurrency market gains spread to high-risk areas

The rise in the cryptocurrency market has spread to riskier areas. Cat and dog-themed memecoin gained as much as 130% weekly, with Cash Cat rising 51% in 24 hours.

The rally led by Bitcoin and mainstream cryptocurrencies is now spreading to more speculative segments of the market. In particular, cat-dog themed memecoins with low market value have experienced violent fluctuations.

Cash Cat in the Robinhood Ecosystem has risen about 51% to $0.218 in the past 24 hours. The token has increased by 113% in the week, and the increase in the past 30 days has reached as high as 345%. The market value has risen to approximately US$215 million.

Which memes have gained the most this week?

This round of gains is not limited to Cash Cat. Cat-themed memes also showed a strong trend. Thinking Cat is up 131% in the past seven days, Purr is up 93%, Popcat is up 54%, and cat in a dogs world (MEW) is up 49%.

Dog-themed tokens also showed a similar situation. Dog (Bitcoin) prices nearly doubled, with dogwifhat up 64%, Bonk up 47%, and Floki up 40%.

The largest meme on the market also joined the rally. Dogecoin is up about 32% in the past seven days, while Shiba Inu is up 30%. The token trades at about $0.0000547 and has a market capitalization of more than $3.2 billion.

This trend indicates that investors are not only starting to focus on mainstream cryptocurrencies, but also turning to tokens with lower market capitalization and more limited liquidity.

Why is Cash Cat rising so fast?

Cash Cat's trend clearly demonstrates the impact of low liquidity on prices. The token has traded approximately US$80 million in volume in the past 24 hours and has a market value of approximately US$215 million. Compared to its size, this shows considerable trading activity.

In this market, an increase in buyers can drive prices higher faster. However, the same mechanism may also work in reverse. When the depth of liquidity is insufficient, the sell-off becomes more intense. In other words, the recent rise does not only mean opportunities, but also carries risks of high volatility.

Does the rise in memoin reflect market risk appetite?

The changes in memes have broader implications. As investors move away from mainstream cryptocurrencies to smaller, riskier tokens, the market's risk appetite is also increasing.

The value of memoin comes more from Internet culture and community attention than from traditional business models or stable cash flow. As a result, when market sentiment changes, their prices tend to fluctuate more violently than many other assets.

Strong gains in tokens such as Cash Cat, Thinking Cat and Dog (Bitcoin) over the same period suggest that the rally is expanding into assets with smaller market capitalizations.

But there is an important difference here: Low liquidity can amplify both gains and losses. When buyers withdraw, prices may fall back at a faster rate.

What does the fear and greed index in the cryptocurrency market say?

The activity of memoin is accompanied by rapid changes in market sentiment. The Cryptocurrency Fear and Greed Index has risen to a level of about 75. Just a week ago, the index was still around 30. At this point, the index has reached its highest point since early October 2025.

Historically, after the index rose to the 70 level, there has been a severe deleveraging event on October 10. However, this comparison in itself does not mean that a new round of decline is imminent. The index measures current market sentiment rather than predicting future crashes.

Today's situation is more indicative of a rapid rise in risk appetite. The sharp rise in memoin is a sign that this risk appetite has spread to the more speculative side of the market.
