Pump.fun expands to HyperEVM, opening up a new battlefield for minin trading
Pump.fun, the publishing platform that dominates minin trading on Solana, has expanded its application to HyperEVM. HyperEVM is an Ethereum virtual machine execution layer built by decentralized derivatives exchange Hyperliquid. In an announcement released on the X platform on August 26, the company said that its apps now support the chain and that users can trade any HyperEVM tokens with USDC through the same interface they use on the main network. Hyperliquid operates one of the busiest perpetual contract trading platforms, and HyperEVM is its move to bring token issuance and decentralized finance into that trading stream.
New features brought by this integration
The distribution platform stated that this integration is not just about supporting basic tokens. Traders can earn so-called "roll call rewards" and trade at "near zero fees," continuing the low-cost model that helped Pump.fun outperform competitors on Solana. Using USDC instead of native chain tokens for transaction settlement also allows traders who switch between memoin and stablecoin to maintain a familiar experience. The announcement regarded the move as a first of its kind, with Pump.fun saying: "We are proud to be the first app to bring HyperEVM into the trenches." This statement is the company's own statement and has not been independently confirmed.
HyperEVM's expanding distribution platform ecosystem
Since its launch on its main network, HyperEVM has been building a DeFi and minicoin ecosystem, and the addition of Pump.fun has added one of the industry's most well-known distribution platform brands to this ecosystem. This follows other experimental projects, such as BasedPad, the zero-fee distribution platform on Hyperliquid, which suggests that Hyperliquid's execution environment is positioning itself as a competitor to the traditional concentration of minin activity. Pump.fun 's Solana roots add extra weight to the integration, as the issuance platform has been one of the most active venues for launching new tokens.
Details that are still unclear
Pump.fun does not specify a timetable for the launch of broader features, nor does it disclose the funding source for "roll call rewards", and the fee structure may change as the integration matures. The company also did not say whether its Solana tool and token list would continue to HyperEVM. Still, Pump.fun's move provides another distribution channel for HyperEVM, while also providing a new platform worth watching for mein traders. The sustainability of the event will depend on the still-emerging liquidity and user demand, so the long-term impact of this expansion remains an open question.
