The U.S. Treasury's monetary policy shift on August 19 led to some major changes in the cryptocurrency market, including how investors view and operate spot ETFs that track BTC and the largest altcoins.
However, investors took another turn after Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Walsh delivered hawkish remarks on Friday. Some cryptocurrency ETFs have fallen out of favor, but others remain strong. Interestingly, Tuesday's winners were neither of the two largest cryptocurrencies.
Who won Monday's battle?
Before revealing who stands out in terms of net inflows, let's confirm who didn't win. The first batch of funds to list on Wall Street-funds that track the performance of market leaders-were the only to have a net outflow on Monday. According to SoValue, investors withdrew $236.46 million. As a result, Monday's net inflow of $216.7 million was dwarfed and turned into a net outflow this week, despite three trading days remaining.
ETFs tracking SOL, ETH and XRP all recorded net inflows. The Solana ETF attracted $10.19 million, well above Monday's net inflow of just $925,000.
The Ethereum Spot Fund performed slightly better, earning US$10.95 million on Tuesday. However, their numbers on Monday were even more alarming, reaching $87.68 million. Financial products tracking ETH have maintained net inflows for several consecutive weeks, and there has been no net outflow day since August 11.
As the title of this article suggests, the winner on Tuesday was XRP. Exchange-traded funds tracking the cross-border token received $14.38 million, almost triple Monday's $5.64 million. The performance of these funds was even more astonishing, with the last net outflow date being August 5. In addition, since July 2, they had only two days when net outflows were greater than net inflows.
Naturally, the huge XRP Corps quickly celebrated its September 1st victory.
US Spot ETF Capital Flow on September 1
XRP: +$14.38M
ETH: +$10.95M
SOL: +$10.19M
BTC: -$236.46MBTC funds showed a net outflow, while XRP, ETH and SOL ETFs all recorded net inflows, which is an obvious sign of capital rotation, despite today's market decline of 4%. -
