CoinGlass data shows that the total amount of cryptocurrency positions cleared by exchanges in the past day slightly exceeded US$1 billion, of which short positions accounted for 82%, totaling US$844 million. Losses caused by bitcoin-related positions were approximately US$608 million, and Ethereum (ETH) positions lost US$181 million. The single largest loss came from a nearly US$21 million Bitcoin position on the Hyperliquid platform.
Most mainstream tokens followed Dogecoin higher: Ripple (XRP) rose 7% to nearly US$1.52; Solana (SOL) rose 5% to just under US$117; Ethereum rose 3% to nearly US$2,740; Binance (BNB) and Wave Field (TRX) both rose between 1% and 2%. The only large token to fall was Monero Coin (ZEC), whose price fell 4% to just over $1,450.
Leveraging funds pour in
As Dogecoin prices broke through key resistance levels, traders poured into the futures market, pushing open interest amounts to US$1.57 billion, the highest level since August 22, of which Binance contributed US$345 million. In addition, long positions worth 78.2 million DOGE were opened at four giant whale addresses. On the technical side, the MACD indicator line has crossed the signal line, a pattern interpreted by technical traders as a bullish signal.
As the hourly liquidation amount fell below $11 million from more than $300 million at Monday's high, market sentiment gradually eased, and the next stage of the market will rely more on active buyers than passive liquidations. Nicolai Sondergaard, senior research analyst at Nansen, said prices were "turning bullish faster than positions were adjusting." He suggested that it would be necessary to observe whether the flow of funds from spot and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) continued to confirm the durability of the rally.
Jasper De Maere, an over-the-counter (OTC) trader at Wintermute, believes it is "premature" to say that Bitcoin is expected to surpass its October 2025 high by the end of the year, but adds that the current rally looks "quite healthy."
Tuesday's rally ended the volatile movement of the memin September, after most of the time its price remained well below the 10-cent mark. Dogecoin began to rebound after hitting a low of $0.078 on September 16 and regained its 200-day moving average of $0.087. A previous round of gains was blocked near $0.095, making the 10-cent target difficult to reach.
