Up against the trend: FWOG performs well in memecoin sell-off

Frog-themed Solana token $FWOG (@itsafwog) is bucking the market, ignoring widespread sell-off in the memecoin market. In the past 24 hours, the token has risen 22% and surged 58% in the past week. At the same time, the broader market is facing severe losses.

Upward gains

This trend is particularly prominent in a difficult market background. In the past 24 hours, Solana's memecoin ecosystem has lost approximately $250 million in market value, while the entire memecoin market has lost approximately $2.4 billion over the same period. Such a huge divergence is not common, which makes FWOG one of the few tokens to achieve significant gains in the current environment, thus attracting market attention.

The broader memecoin downturn on Solana is in line with a trend that has been developing for most of 2026. According to a report by 21Shares, memecoin accounted for 40% of Solana's spot trading volume in the first half of 2025, but by the first half of 2026, this proportion had dropped to 16%, a year-on-year decline of 60%.

Weakening memecoin activity has put pressure on network revenue, although Solana's infrastructure continues to develop.
