The most profitable cryptocurrency airdrop of the week: Week 42 and the October 15 Sonic destruction

Sonic Labs has set final deadlines for airdrops for Season 1 and Season 2. According to the project, a total of approximately 32,690,000 S tokens remain in the contract and are available for collection in the two quarters; if they are not collected by then, the balance will be destroyed on October 15, 2026. There is no specific time specified for the project and there is no grace period.

After this date, any participant can trigger the destruction of the remaining balance, which will permanently remove these tokens from circulation. They won't move into the team wallet or new incentive pool-they will disappear completely.

There is good news for those who have been waiting: the penalty period for early collection has long ended. Deductions in the first quarter last until April 18, 2026, and in the second quarter last until May 24, 2026. From these dates until October 15, 2026, you will receive exemptions from penalties. So there is no reason to wait now-and there is no chance to catch up after this date.

2. Meteora (MET): Season 2 pickups will close on October 21

This is a new entry this week. Meteora opens its second season of LP incentives on July 21, 2026; the window runs until October 21, 2026. The project does not give a specific time in its description, and the date itself is expressed in UTC time.

provides 20 million METs, accounting for approximately 2% of the total supply, from ecosystem reserves. Eligibility covers liquidity providers who incur fees between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026. Only DLMM and DAMM v2 pools are charged; limit orders and DAMM v1 pools are explicitly excluded.

Before opening the portal, there are two thresholds worth understanding: You need at least 100,000 points, and the calculated allocation must be at least 10 MET. People below this standard will waive the allocation, which will be redistributed among the remaining eligible wallets. Your share is your points divided by the total points and applied to that two percent. If you collect it, you can directly pledge the token to the recommended pledge plan, but this is not necessary.

Collection will be made through the event page of the project. The conditions, point formulas and two thresholds are listed in Meteora's governance post on the second season of LP Incentives; the project also announced an expiration date through its official account when collection started.

3. Pharos (PROS): The collection portal will close on October 25.

Pharos airdrop will operate from April 28, 2026, with a clearly specified duration of 180 days. This sets the last day as October 25, 2026. What will happen next will be explained by the project party itself: Unclaimed tokens will be returned to the Pharos Foundation, and the airdrop website will be closed.

Under the project, qualifications include testnet participants, contributors to the "Stake Before the Stake" campaign, users with specific Discord roles, and users of the OKX Wallet campaign. Anyone who qualifies across multiple categories will automatically merge their claims into one.

4. Grass (Phase 2): Until January 22, 2027-The payment currency is USDC

At Grass, this is about the reward for participating in the Phase 2 network. Eligibility covers anyone who shares bandwidth during periods 1 to 19, which is from October 14, 2024 to June 8, 2026. Collection is open from July 22, 2026, and the rigid deadline is January 22, 2027. After that, unreceived rewards will still belong to the project.

Details that many people ignore: Payments are made in USDC, not GRASS. This means that you receive not project tokens that require price attention, but dollar stablecoins-a different event from token airdrops from a tax perspective. Before receiving: Two things to pay attention to this week

Only use real portals

As the deadline approaches, clone collection pages appear more and more-especially Pharos, where counterfeits are known to exist on domain names with similar pronunciation. Always access the collection address through the official channel of the project, never access it through links in private messages, and check the address character by character. The moment of collection is crucial for taxation

What about after receiving it? What happens to already received tokens

Newly received airdrop tokens are almost always small-cap tokens: transaction volumes are thin, price spreads are large, and prices can be halved or doubled in a matter of hours. Total loss here is a realistic result rather than a theoretical possibility. Doing nothing after receiving it is also a decision-and it is often a calmer choice.
