DoubleZero Foundation announced that Kalshi's election and political market data is now available through the DoubleZero Edge platform.

On September 9, the DoubleZero Foundation announced that Kalshi's election and political market data is now available through the DoubleZero Edge platform. The platform is a low-latency market data platform launched earlier this year. This expansion extends Kalshi's coverage on the Edge platform from the sporting event market to the U.S. political market, providing subscription-based U.S. political market orderbook data streams for institutional traders and automated trading systems.

DoubleZero detailed the release in its official website announcement. The election data stream provides Level 1 (Level 1) data, including optimal quotes and transaction records, as well as Level 2 (Level 2) in-depth order book data, allowing traders to monitor liquidity, generate trading signals, and manage positions around political events.

Build a low-latency layer for political markets

DoubleZero Edge provides the most complete market data and is transmitted through the lowest latency path available, mainly for artificial intelligence and automated trading systems. The project pointed out that previously, companies had to assemble their own orderbook status information through API responses, while Edge packaged this information in a subscription form. In addition, MCP servers allow agents to independently discover available data streams, request connections, and troubleshoot them without human intervention.

Election transaction volume has exceeded the 2024 cycle

According to the announcement, as of mid-August, the transaction volume in the U.S. midterm election market has exceeded the total amount for the entire 2024 congressional cycle. On major platforms, the House and Senate bid for more than $133 million in deals. Midterm elections are scheduled for November 3. Andy Ross, head of agency business at Kalshi, said the election market provides agencies with a "real-time, tradable perspective on how market expectations change as political events unfold."

Institutional demand for political markets is growing

Kalshi was founded in 2018 and claims to be the first regulated exchange for event-based products. The expansion follows companies such as Cantor Fitzgerald's attempts to open up Kalshi's prediction market to institutional clients, demonstrating growing demand for political products. DoubleZero co-founder Austin Federa said traditional markets "learned long ago that if data lags, trading opportunities disappear," and prediction markets are beginning to play a similar role, especially during election periods. Existing Edge users can access Kalshi data streams through their existing connections. The project notes that as more professional traders and institutions participate in forecasting markets, obtaining complete and consistent market data has become a key data issue.
