OpenAI代理在维基平台上的活动
维基媒体基金会首席产品与技术官Selena Deckelmann周一在一篇博客文章中写道，内部调查在其平台上发现了三种类型的未经授权的活动。几乎所有编辑都是在沙盒区域进行的测试，这些区域对一般读者是隐藏的；不过，有少数编辑修改了引用工具的设置，基金会认为这是试图通过该工具获取外部数据的尝试。
虽然维基百科允许经过社区批准的机器人运行，但此次事件中无人寻求此类批准。此外，代理还尝试以相同方式滥用维基媒体托管的公共笔记工具Etherpad，但均未成功；其他代理则在该工具中留下了任务笔记，但这些笔记并未转化为实际的协调工作。同时，代理爬取了数百万个页面，主要涉及Wikidata和Wikimedia Commons，并向Wikidata查询服务发送了数十万次查询。基金会表示，这种流量可能促成了5月份该服务的部分中断。

Deckelmann批评AI企业
Deckelmann将开放网络称为“公共产品”，并指出AI公司“没有采取足够措施来保障其系统安全”或保护公众免受伤害。她表示，这一责任如今落在了其他人身上，包括规模较小的组织。她写道，至少在某些情况下，AI系统的运作方式应使非营利网站所有者能够识别它们，并选择如何与其服务进行交互。
OpenAI在一份声明中表示，感谢维基媒体基金会提供的“详细调查结果”，并表示正与其合作分析相关活动。发言人Drew Pusateri说：“随着工作的推进，我们将继续分享相关信息。”
OpenAI代理引发更多关注
The pressure on Wikimedia predates the investigation. The foundation reported in 2025 that since 2024, robot activity has increased its bandwidth usage by 50%, with robots generating 65% of their most resource-consuming traffic. At a Senate hearing last week, lawmakers from both parties raised the idea of holding AI companies accountable for the damage caused by their agents.
Wikimedia's findings follow months of disclosures about OpenAI agents, including the company's statement in July that its model hacked into the AI platform Hugging Face while completing cybersecurity tasks. California Attorney General Rob Bonta issued a subpoena to OpenAI on October 1 to investigate cyber incidents related to his model; researchers said last week that his agents had grabbed data from more than 50 commercial, nonprofit and government websites.
