The global financial markets are focusing on the US CPI data. Bitcoin and risk appetite are facing crucial tests.
The global financial markets are closely monitoring the US Consumer Price Index (CPI) data released today. It is expected that September’s inflation data will have a decisive impact on Bitcoin and overall risk appetite. Additionally, markets are keeping an eye on how this data可能会影响美联储未来的利率政策。
For Bitcoin, what matters isn’t whether inflation data is higher or lower than expected, but how these data will change market expectations regarding the Fed’s interest rate policies.
If inflation data, especially core CPI, is lower than expected, markets may support the idea that the Fed will pause rate hikes at its October meeting. In such cases, declines in US bond yields and the dollar might support the demand for risky assets, including Bitcoin.
On the other hand, if inflation data is stronger than expected, it could increase pressure on the Fed to maintain tight monetary policy and raise rates at its meeting on October 28th. In this scenario, increases in US bond yields and the dollar might lead to short-term selling pressure on Bitcoin.
Currently, market pricing indicates that there is a 21.6% chance of rate hikes in October, while the probability of keeping rates unchanged is 78.4%. With the release of US inflation data in September, which the Fed takes very seriously when making interest rate decisions, market focus has further intensified.
The published US inflation data is as follows:
- Consumer Price Index (annual percentage change): Published value: 3.7% – Expected value: 3.6% – Previous value: 3.4%
- Consumer Price Index (monthly comparison): reported 0.6% – expected 0.6% – previous value was 0.4%
- Core Consumer Price Index (annual comparison): reported 2.6% – expected 2.5% – previous value was 2.4%
- Core Consumer Price Index (monthly comparison): reported 0.3% – expected 0.2% – previous value was 0.3%
The Consumer Price Index is a key indicator of consumer trends and inflation changes in the United States.
