After Bitwise purchased a large number of SOL, its Solana assets were close to US$1 billion

Bitwise has significantly increased its holdings in Solana, with its position approaching the US$1 billion mark.

Bitwise, a leading asset manager, has recently significantly increased its exposure to Solana (SOL). After purchasing a large number of SOL tokens, the value of its position has reached the US$1 billion milestone. Although the Solana ETF market has performed relatively lackluster, institutional interest in the asset continues to heat up.

Bitwise completes large Solana acquisition

Arkham Intelligence data shows that in the past month, Bitwise spent US$107.4 million to acquire SOL tokens. The massive purchase came after the Bitwise Solana ETF experienced a steady inflow of funds. Despite the constant volatility across the cryptocurrency sector, institutional investors appear to be taking advantage of the correction in Solana prices to expand their positions in Solana-themed investment products.

In 18 of the last 20 trading days, the ETF has recorded positive inflows of funds, demonstrating continued interest among investors. There were only two trading days out of funds, indicating stable and strong market demand for Solana products managed by Bitwise.

After completing its latest round of acquisitions, Bitwise has reached significant levels in both the quantity and value of Solana. As of Thursday, September 10, the company held more than 9.03 million SOL units. At current trading prices of about $101, the assets are worth about $918 million, putting Bitwise on the verge of breaking the $1 billion threshold of Solana exposure.

Institutional interest in Solana remains strong

Market observers pointed out that despite the moderate trading volume of Solana ETF, institutional demand for Solana continues. The latest funding flows from the Bitwise Solana ETF highlight that major institutions are taking a long-term perspective on the asset and capturing perceived value during periods of high volatility.

Bitwise continues to accumulate Solana as institutional investors use the recent market correction as a strategic entry opportunity. Against the backdrop of 18 days of positive inflows versus just two days of outflows, the ETF's strong demand signals indicate that institutions are increasingly confident in including Solana in their diversified crypto portfolio.

This accumulation strategy reflects a shift in institutional tactics: they try to balance portfolio risk and seize potential upside in high-confidence digital assets. Bitwise's growing stake in Solana also reflects broader industry confidence in the growth potential of the blockchain ecosystem beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Expansion of access to tokenized assets

Along with this institutional momentum, the cryptocurrency industry is witnessing broader changes. Traditional markets rely on complex brokers and intermediaries, but recent developments have given investors access to a wider range of asset classes via blockchain. Wall Street is actively transitioning to Web3 solutions, such as platforms such as 1stepSwap that allow investors to hold stakes in leading U.S. companies, gold and silver directly in their crypto wallets.

This process involves tokenizing real-world assets (RWAs) and distributing them through a decentralized protocol. In this way, the platform can automatically obtain the most competitive market prices in seconds, eliminating the need for traditional intermediaries and simplifying access for institutional and retail investors.

As a result, asset managers like Bitwise are not only strengthening their crypto asset allocation, they are also looking to the future of cross-asset investment through Web3 infrastructure. The continued accumulation of SOL and expansion into tokenized RWAs highlights a market shift that could redefine institutions 'digital asset strategies.
