Details of the overnight attack
On the night of September 19 to 20, 2026, a cryptocurrency kidnapping occurred against the family of Vendan Le Viyei (located in Padre Galais Province). According to reports, four suspects broke into the home, kidnapped a couple and their two children, aged 8 and 12, and detained them at home.
According to BFMTV, the Betina prosecutor pointed out that because the victim worked in the cryptocurrency industry, criminals threatened him with a 40,000 euro cryptocurrency transfer. The four suspects subsequently fled the scene and are still at large.
Police sources disclosed details of the case to the media on Sunday. The family was allegedly placed under house arrest in the home overnight and tied up until the suspect left. The incident occurred between Saturday night and early Sunday morning. The father contacted emergency services around 8 a.m. Sunday.
