Gemini CEO announced that Singapore XRP holders can deposit and withdraw funds directly through XRPL

Gemini CEO Taylor Winkleworth revealed a new milestone for Singapore XRP holders-the platform expands Singapore users 'direct access to the XRP ledger (XRPL).

Direct integration with XRP ledgers

Winkleworth announced that Gemini users in Singapore can now deposit and withdraw XRP directly on the XRPL network. This development allows users to transfer XRP natively without relying on third-party channels or wrapped tokens. Previously, Singapore customers could only trade and hold XRPs within the Gemini platform, but this integration opens up blockchain-level transactions and brings greater flexibility to asset management.

The XRPL network, known for its fast transaction processing and low fees, now provides direct, regulated access to Singapore users through Gemini. This change enables seamless XRP transfers and is expected to improve the efficiency and transparency of local investors and traders. Previously, users in Singapore could only trade and hold XRPs on Gemini, but the new feature provides direct movement of assets at the blockchain level, connecting the exchange and its customers to the core XRPL infrastructure-an infrastructure known for fast, low-cost transactions in seconds.

Strengthen Gemini's XRP service

This latest update is part of Gemini's continued construction of XRP-related services. Over the past year, the platform has launched a number of initiatives targeting XRP adoption. In 2025, Gemini teamed up with Ripple to launch the XRP version of the credit card, making XRP the most expressive reward currency of all reward options. In December 2025, Gemini further expanded its practicality and supported access to Ripple's U.S. dollar stablecin RLUSD through XRPL. In July 2026, XRP was added as a cross-collateralized asset for derivatives trading, alongside mature assets such as BTC, ETH, USDT and GUSD.

As investors seek more efficient trading and asset management solutions, the industry is paying increasing attention to tokenization and decentralized infrastructure. Traditional markets rely on complex brokers, and a huge change is happening: Wall Street is migrating to Web3. Investors now use certain platforms to hold stocks of major U.S. companies, gold and silver directly in their cryptocurrency wallets. By tokenizing real-world assets (RWA) and automatically finding the best market price in seconds, middlemen are completely eliminated.

Focus on Singapore as a key market

Gemini's recent decision to withdraw from the UK, the European Union and Australia and concentrate its international business in Singapore and the United States makes this announcement particularly significant. Singapore now represents one of the company's two global centers for digital asset innovation. Its local subsidiary, Gemini Digital Payments Singapore, has received in-principle approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and has been awarded a major payment institution license. This regulatory status provides a solid foundation for the platform's continued growth in this market. As the global pillar of Gemini, Singapore has enhanced the credibility and long-term prospects of XRP services in the region with MAS's principled approval of major payment institution licenses.

Expand the practicality of XRP in Asia

XRP has long occupied an important position in the Asian market and has been consolidated through strategic partnerships and technology integration. Providing native XRPL access through Gemini allows the asset to consolidate its role as a legal payment and remittance solution in Asia. The community has responded enthusiastically to the enhanced functionality of XRP holders and the asset's growing recognition in Asia. The announcement is in line with industry trends that Asia is increasingly influential in cryptocurrency adoption, and regulated exchanges are working to provide deeper blockchain integration and broader asset support.
