AI proxy activity on XRP Ledger surged 51%, and RLUSD usage soared with the rise of XRP
This week, XRP prices fluctuated sharply, rising by more than 40%, once approaching US$1.50, which triggered unexpected changes in the operation of the AI proxy chain on XRP ledgers.
AI agents adjust strategies based on market fluctuations
Data from the XRPL AI Hub dashboard shows that in the past seven days, the volume of AI agent transactions settled using RippleUSD (RLUSD) surged by 103% to 135.99 tokens. At the same time, the same indicator denominated in XRP fell 6% to 214.10 tokens.
XRP trading still dominates in dollar terms. Based on the current market price of US$1.41, XRP's total transaction volume is approximately US$300, while RLUSD's transaction volume is lower, approximately US$130.
However, the sharp increase in RLUSD settlement volume reveals a technical trend among these autonomous agents. The algorithms behind AI agents appear to be responding to market fluctuations by reallocating budgets to stable assets pegged to the dollar. In this way, they avoid additional costs associated with a sudden surge in XRP's value-fees that may exceed set limits on their operating budgets and API calls.
AI activity hits new high
Despite the change in payment currency, the overall activity of AI agents has not decreased. In the past seven days, the total number of transactions in the AI space increased by 51% to 378,720 operations. Instead of reducing workload, the autonomous system responds to price fluctuations by decentralizing payment flows and increasing the settlement ratio of RLUSD.
For technical agents handling high-frequency trading, soaring XRP prices will bring unexpected costs that can quickly exceed preset budgets. This makes stablecoins such as RLUSD an attractive alternative to maintaining operational consistency during periods of volatility.
Looking back at the historical total settlement chart over the past month, analysts observed that before August 19, the growth of AI services showed a linear trend, but since then, settlement volume has begun to accelerate as XRP has increased.
Although the total amount involved is not large, with only a few hundred dollars currently involved, this shift is seen as a potentially important technological development in the decentralized agency economy and has attracted much attention.
The growing trend of tokenized assets and decentralized finance
As AI-driven agents adjust strategies based on changes in the on-chain environment, industry participants are also noting that adoption of tokenized real-world assets is rising. Wall Street is increasingly favoring Web3 platforms, which allow investors to hold stocks, gold and silver directly in their crypto wallets. Such platforms eliminate the involvement of intermediate brokers in the process by tokenizing real-world assets and providing instant price discovery.
Looking to the future, industry experts say that broader stablecoin integration may become an effective guarantee for autonomous systems. For example, RLUSD provides a way to insulate high-frequency operations from cost risks posed by fluctuations in digital assets such as XRP.
The combination of stabilizing digital assets and decentralized transaction processing is seen as an important step in the evolution of on-chain AI services, as it enables agents to maintain operational efficiency and budget stability without considering market fluctuations.
