VerifiedX Foundation completes US$15 million in financing and joins hands with Cantor Fitzgerald to expand Bitcoin infrastructure.

On September 9, VerifiedX Foundation announced the launch of a US$15 million round of financing activities and hired Cantor Fitzgerald as its investment banking consultant. The core goal of the project is to improve the infrastructure of bitcoin-backed products for institutions.

Financing Overview and Use of Funds

It is reported that the project has locked in the initial institutional capital, but as of now, the specific investor list and transaction terms have not been disclosed. The funds raised this time will be mainly used for global custody integration, centralized exchange listings, bitcoin distribution and lending infrastructure development.

According to the plan, VerifiedX will provide BitGo hosting service support for vBTC and its Base network-based version of vBTC.b after the financing round is completed. The project party is expected to announce the listing announcement of the first centralized exchange within a few weeks, but has not disclosed the specific name of the trading platform.

Information Disclosure and Market Observation

VerifiedX stated in the announcement that it had secured initial institutional capital, but did not disclose the specific financing amount, participating investors, financing structure or transaction valuation. Cantor Fitzgerald participated as an investment banking partner, but the announcement did not clearly state its specific responsibilities or whether the institution had underwritten, placed or committed to capital contributions. As of the time of preparation of this article, Cantor Fitzgerald has not issued a separate announcement to confirm further details.

It should be pointed out that US$15 million is only the financing target amount, not the actual amount received. VerifiedX has not announced a deadline, minimum subscription amount or subsequent participant announcement schedule, so it is not currently possible to quantify the actual participation of institutional investors. As of September 10, no independently audited financing documents or regulatory filings had been found.

As social media user Michael Huynh (@TheDegenBoii) commented: "Crypto used to deliberately leak equity structure tables, but now banks dominate the say." This view reflects the current trend of the crypto industry's transition from a decentralized narrative to traditional financial compliance.

Technical Architecture and Custody Solution

VerifiedX plans to use part of the funds to expand custody partnerships, including integration with BitGo to provide vBTC and vBTC.b custody services to institutional users. Among them, vBTC is a bitcoin-backed token running on the VerifiedX network, and vBTC.b is a corresponding asset specifically designed for Coinbase's Base network application.

The announcement states that BitGo will hold these two assets for institutional users, but BitGo has not issued a separate public statement to confirm the scope of the integration, release date or operating status. Therefore, the relevant relationship and expansion plans should be regarded as VerifiedX's unilateral claim.

According to VerifiedX's technical documentation, its custody framework uses multi-party FROST threshold signatures, deterministic deposit and redemption mechanisms, and on-chain reserve verification. The document states that custodians can retain control of the underlying Bitcoin, while customers can use the corresponding vBTC in programmable applications. The project party also claimed that each vBTC has one-to-one bitcoin support and can be exchanged for ontology BTC. These statements only describe the design intent of the agreement and are not a substitute for independent proof of reserve, legal analysis or ongoing verification of collateral.

Listing and lending business pending implementation

VerifiedX said that a number of unnamed "primary" centralized exchanges will launch vBTC and its native token VFX. Although the project party said the first listing announcement would be released "within weeks," no exchange has independently confirmed plans to support the assets. The listing work still requires technical integration, liquidity arrangements and compliance review within each platform.

In addition, the project party has not disclosed in which jurisdictions the tokens will be issued and whether access will be restricted by U.S. investors. The financing also aims to support lending programs that allow customers to borrow against Bitcoin as collateral or lend assets to generate income. Although the project claims the facilities will retain ownership and redemption rights, it does not disclose lending partners, mortgage ratios, interest rates or liquidation terms.

Previous reports have pointed out that institutions 'adoption of Bitcoin may depend more on custody capabilities and collateral use than purely transaction volume. Lending products require strict custody controls, reliable valuations, collateral monitoring and clear default handling procedures.

Implementation Challenges and Future Outlook

Based on its public repository information, VerifiedX operates an open source Layer-1 network and Bitcoin sidechains. Its official website displays vBTC as well as payment, wallet and artificial intelligence products (including BFLY, SwitchBlade and PulseXAI).

The project lists the asset evaluation report completed by Halborn in November 2025 and the evaluation report for vBTC v2 in March 2026. However, audit reports only evaluate code within a specific scope and do not guarantee that future deployment of code will not be vulnerable.

Currently, VerifiedX faces multiple execution tests: it needs to complete financing, implement BitGo connectivity and gain exchange participation, while also establishing sufficient liquidity to support vBTC conversions and any launched lending facilities. The next scheduled milestone is the announcement of the first centralized exchange, which is expected to be released in a few weeks. Until additional confirmations are issued by the exchange, BitGo or Cantor Fitzgerald, most operating details remain forward-looking statements by the project parties.
