Cardano News: ADA prices hit weekly lows. Can the three saviors turn things around?

The entire cryptocurrency market is red, and Cardano news is not immune.

Today, every corner of the cryptocurrency market has turned red, and Cardano news is no exception. ADA tokens fell to new weekly lows in early trading, followed by a setback in investor confidence. But it's not just a problem caused by a bad K-line. U.S. inflation data, a cooling in chain activity, and three new online updates are simultaneously pulling ADA prices in different directions.

The following are what is actually happening right now and the key factors that may turn the situation around.

Key Points

  • ADA trading prices were close to $0.2095, down 1.9% intraday and down 5.3% weekly, having previously hit a weekly low of $0.204.
  • The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data showed that the producer price index (PPI) rose 0.4% in August, exacerbating the broader market meltdown.
  • Despite the launch of three new updates, the number of Cardano active addresses dropped from more than 169,000 to 56,307 in just three weeks.

Cardano News: ADA prices hit a weekly low today

According to CoinGecko data, ADA prices traded around $0.2095 today, down 1.9% during the day. Pull the perspective to the weekly chart, and the decline becomes even more significant. It has fallen 5.3% in the past seven days and rebounded slightly to current levels after hitting a weekly low of $0.204.

For anyone who follows today's Cardano news, the story begins with this price drop. This was the weakest point ADA prices hit in a week and coincided perfectly with the broader market sell-off that occurred almost at the same time.

Why did ADA prices plummet? Analysis of PPI and DeFiLlama data

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics today released its producer price index (PPI) report, which is not friendly to risky assets. Final demand prices rose 0.4%. Commodity prices surged by 1.1%, while service prices rose only slightly by 0.1%. In the past 12 months, final demand prices have increased by 5.4%. Higher inflation data generally means interest rates will remain high for longer, which is bad news for the entire cryptocurrency market, including Cardano.

In addition, DeFiLlama data shows that Cardano Internet activity has been cooling for several weeks. Both active addresses and transaction volumes have dropped significantly, and the table below shows the steepness of this decline.

|cycles| active addresses| trading volume|| :--- | :--- | :--- ||August 7 - 23| 169,325 | 193,908 ||August 24 - 30| 133,966 | 174,025 ||August 31-September 6| 113,888 | 155,913 ||7 - 13 September| 56,307 | 90,811 |

In less than a month, active addresses fell by about two-thirds, which is exactly what happened at the same time as prices plunged. That's why today's Cardano News Center focuses on the sell-off rather than the updates mentioned below.

Today's latest Cardano news: Wallets, AI Agents and SundaeSwap v4

However, it's not all bad news. Three separate updates hit Cardano this week, each with its own unique significance.

Mesh launches Cardano and Bitcoin Wallet SDK

Mesh posted a post on X (formerly Twitter) announcing a new wallet software kit for Cardano and Bitcoin. It provides developers with a unified interface for two chains, a headless wallet, CIP-30 compatible tools, and equivalent Bitcoin primitives for address and script processing. The toolkit is fully open source under the Apache 2.0 license and documentation has been released.

Mesh built this project for 100,000 coins through a Catalyst Fund 14 proposal budget. Four of the five milestones have been approved as proof of achievement, with 76,000 ADAs currently released.

The Cardano Foundation supports AI agents through Masumi

According to the Cardano Foundation, every AI agent faces the same four problems: no wallet, no identity, inability to make payments to other agents, and no record of actions or decisions made by it. Masumi Network is building solutions to these four problems directly on Cardano.

Foundation head Frederik Gregaard said earlier this year that Sokosumi already has about 400 customers using AI agents, including BMW and Lufthansa. This represents a real-world use case for Cardano beyond price speculation.

SundaeSwap v4 is scheduled to launch on October 1

SundaeSwap confirmed on X that its version 4 protocol will be available on the Cardano main website on October 1. This update brings modular pools, automatic routing, centralized liquidity, multiple asset pools, custom vaults and some transaction functions.

If it goes as planned, this could be one of the biggest upgrades to Cardano DeFi this year.

How will Cardano ADA prices develop next?

Today is not over yet. Consumer price index (CPI) data will be released later today and could once again drive volatility across the market, for better or worse. The Federal Reserve meeting and the Clarity Act have also increased pressure behind the scenes.

While none of these guarantees the next step for any Cardano price forecast, it does mean that ADA's volatility this week is far from over.

CoinGabbar analysis:

Market analysts pointed out that today's Cardano news and price movements seem more related to macro pressures than specific problems with the network itself. The decline in active addresses is a real concern that deserves attention because it shows fewer users using the chain on a daily basis. Meanwhile, this week's wallet, AI proxy and DeFi updates suggest that development has not slowed down. Analysts typically view days like these as emotionally driven rather than fundamentals driven, although nothing here should be interpreted as a guarantee of recovery for either side.
