Coinbase announced that it will end trading support for eight trading pairs to optimize market liquidity.

Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase recently announced that in order to improve market integrity and enhance liquidity, it will stop supporting eight trading pairs starting from September 15. This adjustment aims to optimize platform trading conditions and improve order book efficiency.

According to the official announcement, Coinbase will terminate the trading services of the following trading pairs:

  • ANKR/EUR
  • BAT/BTC
  • BAT/ETH
  • COMP/BTC
  • FIL/BTC
  • GRT/BTC
  • JASMY/USDT
  • YFI/BTC

Assets have not been removed, only some trading pairs have been removed.

It needs to be clear that removing a specific trading pair does not mean that the relevant cryptographic assets are completely removed from the Coinbase platform. Users may still continue to trade these assets through other supported currency pairs on the platform, depending on the options currently available on the platform.

Industry background and user suggestions

In the current cryptocurrency market, it has become the norm for exchanges to regularly evaluate and adjust trading pairs. This is usually done to eliminate trading pairs with low trading volume or illiquid, thereby improving overall market efficiency and structural stability. Coinbase said it will continue to determine which trading pairs are worth retaining and supporting based on the platform's existing market options.

The main assets affected include ANKR, BAT, COMP, FIL, GRT, JASMY and YFI. Users are recommended to check the list of trading pairs supported by the platform in a timely manner so as to reasonably arrange trading strategies.
