After the sale failed to meet the standards, the team sought emergency financing from potential supporters. Linera said the discussions failed to generate enough money to maintain previous development speeds or advance projects to the main network. As a result, the team has begun to scale down operations in phases. Applications related to the project will be closed and its Discord community will be offline as part of the process.
Linera did not describe this move as an immediate termination of work on the agreement. Team members said they still hope to complete technology development and launch applications in the future, but did not provide a new timetable or specify other sources of funding.
Uncertainty about user points entitlements
For community members who earn points through the Linera project program, the team stated that existing balance records will remain unchanged. However, the team cannot guarantee that these points will be redeemed into tokens, bring financial benefits, or confer any rights in the future.
This distinction is critical because project points are often used to measure early participation before a token is issued. Linera's statement only confirmed that the balance would be retained and did not establish an exchange rate, distribution plan or claim rights on the project.
Those users who invested in the Sonar offering were in a different position because the team said the funds had been refunded. Therefore, the focus of the shutdown plan is on unfinished applications, community access, and uncertain point balances, rather than on outstanding token sales proceeds.
