Securitize tokenizes twelve U.S. large-cap stocks, starting with Solana.
Cryptoasset platform Securitize recently announced that it will bring the stocks of twelve of the largest U.S. listed companies into the eyes of crypto traders. The product was officially launched on the Solana network by issuing tokenized shares linked one-to-one to real shares.
The first batch of target and trading mechanisms
The new "Securitize Stocks" product released on Wednesday launched the first phase of security equity certificates covering twelve widely held popular stocks, including Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Google, Tesla, Meta, Amazon, Netflix, Circle, Strategy and Palantir.
These tokens will initially be traded on the Solana chain on a Securitize registered broker dealer platform, with the settlement currency being USDC stablecoin. Currently, the service is open to qualified investors in the United States, the European Union and other permitted jurisdictions.
Core Advantage: Real ownership rather than price tracking
Securitize said its products are unique in the underlying assets behind each token. Unlike many offshore tokenized stock products that only track stock prices, each Securitize Stock token is fully backed by one underlying share and constitutes a security interest under the Uniform Commercial Code. This structure retains investors 'rights and economic interests, including dividend income and, where applicable, voting rights.
In addition, shares used to support the token will not be lent out. If the issuer supports it, the holder can also convert his equity into actual registered shares.
Carlos Domingo, Chairman and CEO of Securitize, pointed out: "Tokenized stocks should give investors value beyond the mere price tracking package and should not be limited to the offshore market." He emphasized that the company's goal is to bring equity to the blockchain "without sacrificing the ownership, investor protection and market infrastructure that make U.S. capital markets work efficiently."
Trading Infrastructure and Partners
In terms of trading infrastructure, current liquidity will be run through Securitize's Solana-based Automated Market Maker (AMM), with Jump Trading acting as the market maker. Trading hours are currently extended periods and plans to expand to 24/7 trading in the future.
The release also lists a series of partners, including Ripple Prime and Aave. As asset availability improves, these tokenized stocks will be able to be used in the on-chain lending and mortgage markets.
Industry Competitive Landscape
This release comes as the race to put stocks on blockchain networks accelerates. Securitize's own shares have been traded on Solana since listing on the New York Stock Exchange in July. At the same time, the "innovation exemption" introduced by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) also opens the way for compliant tokenized stocks. From Coinbase to NYSE to OKX's joint venture with ICE, many competitors have entered this space.
Securitize 表示,其代币预计将在 NYSE 计划中的全天候交易场所以及 OKX-ICE 代币化证券场所进行交易,尽管这两个场所目前尚未正式上线。
