Bitcoin consolidated around US$83,000, and some altcoins surged against the trend.
Bitcoin's correction from US$87,000 did not end over the weekend. BTC has been swinging sideways at around $83,000 for about 36 hours. Meanwhile, Starknet (STRK) has gained as much as 53% in the past 24 hours, with a weekly gain of more than 105%. Although the market overall remained calm, Celestia (TIA) and Aerodrome Finance (AERO) also stood out with double-digit gains.
Why is Bitcoin blocked at US$83,000?
Bitcoin fell to $80,400 on Thursday, before its subsequent rally stopped at $83,500. The market is currently showing two very different trends: Bitcoin is struggling to find its way, while some altcoins are recording strong gains.
Bitcoin performed strongly in early October and broke through the US$87,000 mark on the second trading day of the month. However, the rally did not last and the price fell below $84,000 that day.
BTC tried to move closer to $85,000 over the weekend, but encountered resistance when it tested $86,600 again in early trading on Monday. The buyer was unable to break through this point, and the selling pressure immediately returned. Bitcoin first fell to $83,600, then further dropped to $82,400 on Wednesday.
Selling pressure accelerated on Thursday, with BTC hitting a multi-week low of $80,400. Friday's rally was finally blocked at $83,500. Since then, prices have fluctuated around $83,000.
According to CoinMarketCap data, Bitcoin has a market value of approximately US$1.66 trillion, with a market dominance of 59.5%. The total market value of the entire cryptocurrency market is approximately US$2.8 trillion.
New fluctuations may occur in the market over the weekend. New attacks on Saudi Arabia and Donald Trump's remarks that the United States may be involved in the conflict could add to market volatility on Saturday night or Sunday morning.
Why did STRK surge 105% in a week?
The strongest performance in the market came from Starknet. STRK has risen more than 53% in the past 24 hours, with prices approaching $0.11, and a weekly gain of more than 105%.
This rise occurred against a backdrop of a lack of clear direction in the market for most of the time. When Bitcoin was deadlocked around $83,000, STRK's 53% single-day gain highlighted the huge performance differences between altcoins.
However, relevant sources did not point out that there was specific news or catalyst behind STRK's rise. Therefore, there is currently insufficient data to attribute this change to a specific event.

TIA and AERO were also among the rising altcoins
Following STRK, Celestia (TIA) and Aerodrome Finance (AERO) also achieved double-digit gains.
TIA rose 21% to US$0.60 in the past 24 hours;AERO rose 15% to hit about US$1.
Among large-cap altcoins, fluctuations are relatively limited. Ethereum was trading around $2,500, and XRP fell below $1.40. Zcash (ZEC) and Hyperliquid (HYPE) both rose about 1%.
BNB, Solana (SOL), TRON (TRX), Dogecoin (DOGE), Monero (XMR), Chainlink (LINK) and Cardano (ADA) fell slightly.
Therefore, although the overall market did not show strong general gains over the weekend, STRK, TIA and AERO performed significantly better than other currencies.
In the short term, whether Bitcoin can regain its footing at US$85,000 is crucial. For altcoins, the market will be watching whether STRK can maintain its weekly gain of more than 105%. However, existing data does not guarantee that this sharp rise will continue.
