TLDR: XRP prices hold on to support, and buying holds on to recent lows. Prior to public disclosure, ledger security repair procedures were in place.
XRP prices remained near $1.39 on Sunday, operating above near-term support, as the disclosure of the vulnerability did not trigger an immediate sharp sell-off. Veria Labs estimates that the vulnerability could generate approximately 18.45 trillion XRPs, threatening confidence in existing token supply. Developers released the emergency fix on September 25, before it was publicly disclosed that investigators found no evidence of exploiting the vulnerability. Independent borrowing amendments still depend on the support of validators, and recent price recovery has kept the resistance above unovercome.
XRP prices remained near $1.39 on Sunday after researchers disclosed a key vulnerability that could lead to unauthorized token generation. The flaw affects the XRP Ledger payment engine and has not been detected since 2015. Developers released fixes before releasing details, and investigators found no signs of exploitation on the public web.
According to TradingView's market data, XRP is trading at around $1.39, keeping daily gains under 1%. Despite safety disclosures, buyers continue to defend recent lows. This mild reaction follows a difficult week as traders focus on nearby support levels and whether the recovery can break through the narrow weekend trading range.
XRP prices hold support, buying holds to recent lows
The XRP price continued to trade above the support range of $1.32-$1.33 after buyers absorbed the latest drop. The weekly chart shows a shadow line near $1.32, indicating buying interest below the current level.
This rally puts the rising support line connecting the early lows into focus. However, holding support does not establish a lasting reversal trend. A stronger recovery requires sustained demand above the current range. <

The broader resistance area lies between $1.50 and $1.70, and previous weekly highs could attract selling. Recent stability has kept the larger trading range intact until buyers recover these levels.
XRP prices also remain sensitive to the broader cryptocurrency landscape. Bitcoin's retreat to the US$80,000 - 83,000 range added pressure to digital assets. As a result, limited weekend action provided evidence of stability, but did not prove that sellers had exhausted their positions.
This security report describes a vulnerability that has been resolved, which may explain the market's restrained response. This interpretation remains an inference, as price movements alone cannot determine why individual traders are buying and selling.
For XRP prices, the current difference is defensive support and breakthrough resistance. A brief recovery from weekly lows confirmed buying activity took place there. But that's no guarantee that the same range will remain in another sell-off.
Ledger security fixes in place before public disclosure
Veria Labs said its AI system discovered the flaw on September 21. Researcher Cayden Liao verified the discovery and included it in the Bug Bounty Program on September 22.
The company estimates that a single transaction could generate approximately 18.45 trillion XRPs, approximately 184 times the original supply. Its exposure estimate of $94 billion refers to the value of existing tokens, not stolen funds. Veria also warned that attackers could not sell such a large quantity at prevailing prices. The main threat is that unauthorized supply undermines confidence in the asset.
The official October 9 disclosure explains how arithmetic spillover affects payment calculations and separate supply security checks. Both calculations can wrap around, causing the newly created XRP to escape detection.
Ripple engineers confirmed the issue and released version 3.4.1 of xrpld on September 25. More than 80% of relevant validators upgraded that day. Emergency protection measures take effect through software upgrades rather than the usual amendment activation process.
Veria reported receiving the highest-level reward of $250,000 on October 8. Official investigations found no evidence that the attacker exploited the vulnerability on any public network.
Meanwhile, XRP price trading was calm as other independent amendments online were still under review. Official documents list the loan function as open voting status. Its activation depends on validator support rather than a predetermined commercial release schedule.
The proposed lending framework will add native lending capabilities, and related vault amendments will support pooled assets. These changes are separate from emergency spill fixes. Their voting status measures deployment progress, but not future demand for XRP or establish how much lending activity the network will ultimately attract commercially.
Ordinary amendments require continuous validator approval to be activated. Losing the support needed disrupts the process. The status and majority timing of the ledger records amendment allows observers to distinguish between proposed features and those already available on the network.
