Bitcoin News shows that the mining supply has exceeded 20.07 million pieces, leaving only about 4.4% of the total number of 21 million pieces.
CZ estimates that 10% to 20% of existing bitcoins may have been lost, stuck or cannot be retrieved, reducing the available supply.
Bitcoin prices are around US$63,000, with US$58,000 to US$67,000 seen as the key range for August.
Bitcoin news has attracted attention again recently because mining data shows that as of August 2026, more than 20.07 million bitcoins have been dug up, leaving only about 4.4% of the fixed supply of 21 million coins. CZ said some existing bitcoins may have been lost or stuck, while many long-term holders have not transferred their bitcoins, raising new questions about the supply available to buyers.
However, the Bitcoin price targets listed in this article are based on technical analysis and may not accurately reflect future market trends. Cryptocurrency prices can be highly volatile and difficult to predict.

Bitcoin News: Mining exceeds 20.07 million coins
Bitcoin news is back in focus. Mining data shows that as of August 2026, more than 20.07 million bitcoins have been dug up. Based on the upper limit of 21 million pieces, only about 4.4% of the total supply is left.
This latest data reignited discussions about the number of bitcoins available to buyers. CZ said he estimates that 10 to 20 percent of existing bitcoins may have been lost, stuck, or unrecoverable. This means that the number of coins available on the market will be lower than the number indicated by the surface supply.

makes a similar point to CZ's response, suggesting that available supplies may be more important than the 21 million cap. CZ agrees that many long-term holders will not transfer or spend their bitcoins, which means that these positions are not easy to obtain for those who want to buy. Coins that have not been transferred for a long time, as well as coins that may never be retrieved, reduce the amount available on the market at any given time.
Bitcoin prices face critical levels
At the same time, according to Tanaka, a cryptocurrency market influencer on Platform X, bitcoin prices remain at around US$63,000. Tanaka outlined three possible paths for the rest of August, with sideways consolidation being the main scenario.
Tanaka believes that the probability of sideways consolidation is 50%, and expects Bitcoin to remain between US$58,000 and US$67,000, with most activity concentrated between US$60,000 and US$65,000. The forecast comes as recent inflows of cash bitcoin ETFs have cooled.
Tanaka pointed out that the outflow of funds was about US$61 million on August 12, and about US$131 million on August 13, which was close to flat on August 14, which was also confirmed by Farside Investors data.

The Federal Reserve kept interest rates at 3.5% to 3.75%, while inflation slowed to 3.4% year-on-year in July. Tanaka said that these conditions do not yet support a major market. If Bitcoin falls below the $58,000 to $60,000 region and a clear daily close occurs, a bearish scenario will come into play. Tanaka believes that in this case, the next region is US$52,000 to US$55,000. The main concerns include ETF outflows, thin liquidity and high leverage.
A breakthrough of $67,000 may change perceptions
The current bullish scenario is small, as another piece of Bitcoin news suggests. Tian set the probability at 20%, and said Bitcoin needs to recover US$65,000 before it can break through US$67,000 to US$68,000 with strong trading volume. Stronger ETF inflows, falling dollar and bond yields and a more favorable economic background may support this trend. If these conditions arise, Tanaka's focus is on the target of US$70,000, US$75,000, and possibly even higher than US$80,000.
For the rest of 2026, the basic scenario for Bitcoin prices is US$55,000 to US$75,000, a bullish scenario is US$80,000 to US$100,000 or higher, and a bearish scenario is US$40,000 to 52,000.
Supply data adds another perspective to the current Bitcoin discussion. More than 20.07 million coins have been mined, and some existing positions may never be re-entered into circulation. However, supply scarcity alone does not determine the next price trend. For now, the focus remains on ETF flows, key price levels and whether buyers can push Bitcoin back into the resistance zone. The market view shared by Tanaka remains cautious, with sideways consolidation seen as the most likely path before a direction appears.
