Despite recent strong market momentum, XRP still faces potential correction risks.
After the market entered a limited recovery phase last month, there is still uncertainty whether Ripple's XRP tokens can maintain their continued upward momentum. In 2025, XRP once rebounded strongly to a record high, breaking through the US$2 mark, but then suffered a decline, and its price briefly fell below US$1 last month.
Is recovery unsustainable?
The moderate recovery of the cryptocurrency market late last month gave investors renewed hope. Bitcoin temporarily recovered the $80,000 mark, which in turn boosted the price of XRP. However, this upward trend was short-lived. As Bitcoin fell back to around US$77,000, XRP also fell simultaneously.
The main driving force for this short-term recovery comes from significant progress in the United States. President Donald Trump's cryptocurrency event at the White House has sparked investor interest. In addition, the U.S. Treasury Department's decision to increase the scale of bond repurchases has injected more liquidity into risky assets and accelerated the market's rise.
Will the shadow of inflation and interest rate hikes loom over the market?
Yes, the renewed threat of inflation and potential interest rate hikes have cast a shadow over the continued rebound of the market. Analysts pointed out that $1 is a key support level for XRP. If selling pressure intensifies, prices could return to this level again.
Inflation remains one of the core risk factors. At the annual meeting of global central banks in Jackson Hole, Kevin Warsh highlighted inflation concerns. There is widespread speculation in the market that the Federal Reserve may raise interest rates again, which may trigger further selling of XRP and other crypto assets.
Will liquidity support diminish?
Markets believe that the recent increase in liquidity brought about by the U.S. Treasury may not be permanent. If bond repurchase funds gradually flow back to the Ministry of Finance in the future, the overall liquidity within the system will decrease, which will not only affect XRP, but also affect the wider cryptocurrency market.
- US$1 remains a crucial support area for XRP.
- Inflation expectations may trigger the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates.
- The potential reduction in liquidity provided by the U.S. Treasury presents additional challenges.
Given the above-mentioned complex financial environment, XRP's road to regaining the US$2 high before the end of 2026 seems difficult. In the absence of major new positive results that drive the market soaring, current economic factors such as inflation, interest rates and liquidity will dominate the short-term market outlook.
