Ripple and Brevan Howard deepen strategic cooperation
Ripple has expanded its relationship with Brevan Howard, one of the world's leading alternative investment management companies. This partnership positions Ripple Prime as a critical infrastructure provider connecting crypto assets and traditional finance.
Comprehensive upgrade of multi-asset brokerage services
Under the expanded agreement, Ripple Prime will provide multi-asset Prime Brokerage, clearing and financing services to Brevan Howard's funds. Brevan Howard manages approximately $33 billion to $34 billion in assets, covering its flagship macro strategy and emerging investment vehicles.
Brevan Howard no longer sees himself simply as an interest rate and foreign exchange trader. Its founder Alan Howard said the company is evolving into a broader alternative asset manager and has established a dedicated cryptocurrency division, Brevan Howard Digital, to manage billions of dollars in cryptocurrency and blockchain-related investments.
This transaction reflects the growing demand from top investment institutions for prime broker solutions across traditional and digital markets, and these needs need to be met within a regulated enterprise-level framework. Through Ripple Prime's unified platform aimed at improving capital efficiency and operational simplicity, Brevan Howard will receive comprehensive prime brokerage services covering multiple asset classes.
The result of long-term trust accumulation
The deepening of this relationship is based on Brevan Howard's existing support for Ripple. In 2025, Brevan Howard Related Fund participated in Ripple's US$500 million strategic investment, which fully demonstrated its confidence in Ripple's growth trajectory and long-term vision.
Noel Kimmel, President of Ripple Prime, and Alan McGroarty, Chief Operating Officer of Brevan Howard Group, both elaborated on the strategic logic of the cooperation. McGroarty pointed out that "as digital markets become increasingly interconnected with traditional markets," the demand for institution-level digital asset infrastructure is growing. He added that the platform built by Ripple is expected to bring greater operational convenience and capital efficiency to the investment team.
Its industry position has been significantly enhanced
Ripple Prime, formerly known as Hidden Road, was acquired by Ripple in April 2025. Currently, it is considered one of the largest non-bank prime brokers in the world, processing more than $3 trillion in clearing transactions for more than 300 institutional clients every year. The addition of Brevan Howard not only adds a heavyweight to its client list, but also marks Ripple Prime's continued strong momentum in serving institutional investors across traditional and digital markets.
