Cardano mainnet cumulative trading volume exceeded 125 million mark, chain activity continues to rise
Cardano mainnet cumulative trading record has officially exceeded 125 million. Web data shows that nearly 1 million transactions were registered in the current epoch alone. This milestone reflects a continuous upward trend in chain activity over several months.
Network momentum continues to grow
The 125 million transactions are the latest in a series of recent transactions recorded by the project network. As early as the end of September 2026, the Cardano Foundation reported that the cumulative transaction volume since the launch of the network was 123,982111 million. Since then, this growth trajectory has continued to stretch upward, benefiting from a surge in broader activity.
According to DeFiLlama, Cardano's decentralized exchange (DEX) trading volume has reached US$37.14 million in the past seven days, an increase of 112% over the period. Meanwhile, Chainspect data shows that Cardano processed 222,000 transactions in the past seven days, a 5.7% increase from the previous period.
These activities are scattered across multiple application scenarios. Network statistics confirm that decentralized exchange liquidity pools, native asset transfers, and smart contract execution all contribute to overall activity. Among them, SundaeSwap leads other running DEX on the network with $23.51 million in spot trading volume, while Minswap closely follows with $6.59 million in trading volume.
How does the eUTXO model drive Cardano's activities?
Cardano's architecture is at the heart of its usage model. Unlike the Account-based models of power Ethereum and Solana, Cardano uses an Extended Unspent Transaction Output (eUTXO) accounting model.
Unlike Bitcoin's UTXO, Cardano's design introduces data primitives, redeemers, and script contexts, which allows smart contracts to run as deterministic local state machines without having to access global blockchain state. This certainty brings predictable fees and enables enhanced parallel processing capabilities between UTXO sets while minimizing the risk of front-running.
This architectural design is attracting more and more attention from developers. In 2026, the network's average daily transaction volume will exceed any time in its history. In addition, Cardano has 2,890 active Stake Pools, which further highlights the scale of participation across the ecosystem.
With the 125 million transaction milestone reached, another key data point has been added to a network that has remained uninterrupted since its launch. Currently, entering the fourth quarter of 2026, online activities have accelerated significantly.
